Just saw this up for bidding at Landsborough. Advertised as a "Norinco Type 56 SKS-D". 14 days out and already at $425....

I had one of those conversions but with the full stock not the folding one. Heavy as hell. Sold it for 1,000 I think 10 years ago. It is VERY heavy. I would stick to the type 81.
 
i like the cocking handle and how he welded the top cover to the back cover. the take down must be the screw in the rear.

It looks pretty cool. A lot of work and easy to take apart. Very solid but all steel, so more of a showpiece than practical.

I have to find the pics of the one I had, I posted it on here and 90% of the response was - ugly as ####.

Funny how the taste changes.
 
heavy or ugly or not. its now bidded at $1000 plus tax, ship and premium. it doesnt start till mar 12.

i find bidders tend to over pay on auctions.

If you go back far enough, you'll find my old factory.. 626? Something like that, with a similarly modded bolt carrier by Neit Arms(whoever they are)
