Hello
My son will be 16 in May, is that to young to do the BB course?
Also, what’s the age requirement for BB and IPSC?

He’s been shooting pistol for about 4 years now .

He currently likes shooting a 1911 chambered in 45aco as he finds my Canik elite a bit to snappy.
Though he sometimes limp wrists the 1911.
We’re working on it.. lol
Maybe a 9 mm that’s a bit heavier with a longer barrel?

I think the BB would be a breeze for him if he had the right pistol.

There is no age requirement to shoot IPSC or to take the BB course.

My oldest took the course when he was 13 and has been shooting a shadow2 in production for the last couple years.

Well that’s great to hear.
I have a chance to buy back a Shadow 2 from my brother in law.

Like mentioned above; No age cut-off - it depends on the child.

They need to have the maturity to complete the competencies safely and they need the physical strength to complete them as well.

I've seen a 13 year old do better than a 28 year old in a class.

I've also seen a 16 and a 34 year old get kicked out of the course for not taking it seriously.

I was like 16/17 when I started shooting IPSC. I started with a Glock 17C and then moved to using my 1911 45acp.. But back then 45 was MUCH cheaper.

I have a few thousand lead bullets kicking around for my .45 .
It’s his favorite but he’s getting a jamb every other mag, I think he’s ; limp wristing: maybe?
And the serrated trigger irritates his trigger finger.

Kotanko did some work on it and It breaks just under 3 lbs.

One of the top shooters in Ontario was round about that age when he became one of the top shooters in Ontario. I think maybe even younger, not sure.
