300 series in lever action?

Now that Hornady has come out with their lever action revolution cartridges that no longer pose a risk of exploding in the tube, why doesn't somebody come up with a 300 WSM or even 300 win Meg in a lever action? Would be nice to have those extra rounds available as opposed to a magazine. It seems all you can get now is a 45/70 cannon or a 308.

It hasn’t happened (and won’t), because both those cartridges would be quite difficult to build on a lever action platform. At least in a tube fed one which appears to be what you want. They’re rimless cases which don't feed well for the most part. Diameter/overall length would mean that with either one the action would have to be pretty massive. There would likely be an issue with them being over the pressure limits of the action as well. On top of that the hornady bullets currently produced are not built for that kind of velocity and I would not expect them to perform well. The blr does solve some of those issues, but won’t gain you anything in magazine capacity.

Everywhere I look, people say they are no longer made. If you have information on where I can get one of those could you please tell me?

They are still being built but in case you haven't noticed just about everything firearms related is scarce due to historic demands from consumers.

If you are looking for one watch the Equipment Exchange on this site as magnum-chambered BLR rifle pop up for sale fairly regularly.

I'd highly doubt browning would ever discontinue the blr except maybe the long action version. I wouldn't own a long action lever. You have to cycle the lever a country mile to load or eject a cartridge. Iirc, I saw a guy firing a blr in .300 wsm at the range once. It had quite a bit of recoil. Having said this, if I wanted a magnum blr I would pic the wsm over the win mag all a day long.

I had a similar idea about 18yrs ago when the WSM's arrived and made a .458 wsm on a Marlin using .300RUM cut down to 2.10". Results were a repeater rifle that was pretty much equal to the Ruger #1 45-70 loads,250gr/67gr vv130 @2650, 350gr/68gr vv133 @ 2359 and 400gr/65gr vv133 @ 2216, but that one hurt!

Now Thats a Friggin KOOL 95 rifle ! I LIKE that idea ! RJ

Is the lever throw of a long action BLR longer than any classic lever action? The short action ones have a fairly short throw, shorter than a 92 if I remember right. Thought it was one of the advantages of the rack and pinion system?

I always did think that the idea of hunting with a 24 inch barrel 7mm RM lever action was a little odd…

Would be nice to have those extra rounds available as opposed to a magazine.

Sounds like OP is dreaming of a tube mag gun with gummy tip bullets though? Even weirder lol
