Went to range once and it cracked... now still small but will grow if I let it

I went to CZ website they ask for proof of purchase, which I do not have, will they entertain pre owned rifles?
Or EMT can consider ask proof of purchase?
This is really sad...

Extremely common, lots of reports of this happening. My rifle cracked too and much worse.

Good luck with CZ, nice rifles otherwise

There’s contact between the action and wood at the corner where the crack is starting. Take a small file and relieve the wood until the space matches the other side.

CZ put bottom of the barrel walnut on these, improperly cured and improperly inletted. Quality went down compared to the old 527. Usually a bedding job is all that is required to avoid the problem though.
Still, killing that line was probably the last nail in CZ's coffin.

My old model with the fixed sights, high bolt and gusseted magwell still cracked.

CZ pistols are very popular; I doubt they are going in the ground anytime soon

OP any gunsmith can bed your rifle

I'd be surprised if there was not a youtube video covering bedding these rifles given how common the problem is.

As for CZ's future viability, their new rifle models look pretty good to me.

I wonder if CZ's warranty partner in CA will consider this under warranty? I know it is a long shot with a used rifle and all, but it is a known issue...

there is one video but not 7.62X39, and that was a heavy barrel

Difference in humify is a big deal with wood that is not cured properly.
Summer time , less chance of it happening , if it is fitted properly.
Really showed up in some pistol grips I got in that came from tropical countries, well made , cheap, But when they finished drying out in this county, warped bad.

I think by applying linseed oil regularly will help?
