Does anyone have any experience with these? I recently read an article, guns are reasonable, extra magazines are readily available and bulk surplus ammo is still available and haven't jumped in price as badly as other calibers or components for those calibers. With the cost of reloading components in .44 mag and .45 acp jumping recently, I'm thinking of a new pistol using "store bought" ammunition.

Shot 1050 rds of Chinese Non-corrosive, only 1 split casing at around 200rds, then no issues. This type of ammo has inconsistent load, you can feel some kicks extra, accuracy is average.

Haven't shot any brass cased,

Grip is annoyingly huge,

Cheap, cheaper to shoot and makes smol holes on paper,

decently made, finish is better than NP22, for around $300, why not.
 
I wouldn’t say magazines are easy to come by, I would buy a few,but have never seen them. I bought 3000+ rounds year ago, surplus was cheap then, I not sure if it’s cheap still.


The down sides

The firing pin/breech block is pinned. I had to drill out the pin which took way more effort than I would have predicted. I replaced the pin with sig replacements, so the firing pin and slide can be properly serviced. But if you leave it alone, you’ll be fine.

The grips that come on the pistol are nothing less than horrendous. Even after soap and hot water, dishwasher, brake cleaner the grips were still greasey. I have large hands and the grips made the pistol way to bulky. Even cutting off the wrap around finger grooves, it was still too bulky. I bought some houge grips and they required slight modifications to fit, well worth it. Fits nicely in my hands, if you have smaller hands the double stack mag but be too much for some.

I have had several failure to feeds, I don’t think it’s a magazine issue, I think I need a strong mainspring, but haven’t purchased a spring upgrade yet.

My final issue is trigger reset, it’s long and if you don’t release enough you won’t get your next shot. There is a kit but I haven’t purchased it yet.

I like the pistol, but it needs some work. But once I do my work, I’m confident this pistol will be reliable.

The grip is certainly large. I replaced mine with a Sig; the fit is not perfect on account of the NP762 magwell being wider due to the ammo, but it’s functional. Anyway, it fits my hand a whole lot better with the replacement grip. Nice pistol, I like it. I plan on using it more frequently going forward; I have less than 100rds through it, so I cannot comment on reliability, other than no failure to feed or failure to eject yet…
 
The NP762 is a great pistol. Its accurate and fun to shoot.
Be careful buying 7.62x25 surplus ammo tho becuase the czech ammo( the stuff on stripper clips) have to hard of primers.
This results in FTF 2-4 rounds in a 10 rounds magazine.
Any Russian or Chinese Surplus ammo works perfectly.
Oh I put a wood grip my and tossed rubber gribs becuase its was huge lol
 
Bought one a while back and sold it because I couldn't find extra mags at the time. Big grip so I cut the finger grooves off which offered a slight improvement. Really heavy DA trigger pull. Did run into reliability issues with some ammo due to hard primers. Otherwise a decent pistol
 
One beast of a handgun!
From someone whom is not particularly skilled handgunner, I was absolutelly floored by the accuracy of this thing!

Maybe I just got lucky with this one, but compared to my Glock 21 (with which I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn), this thing shoots like a laser.
I'm able to consistently produce 1 inch groups (sometimes even less) at 25 yards with cheap Chinese ammo.

I'm not sure what the golden standards for handgun accuracy are as I'm mostly a rifle guy, but I know this handgun raised quite few eyebrows at my range.
 
Friend has one of the first import Dominion Arms batch. It consistently suffers from FTE with Czech lacquer surplus. Copper washed Russian or Chinese is ok.

My pistol from the Sudan contract works with that ammo just fine.

A bunch of extra mags were brought in with the Sudan contract guns.

There was an ebay seller from Russia that made wood grips for these, I'm personally not a fan, but others say they are nice and definitely slimmer.
