...bought a Ruger 96 back in the late nineties when I would lust after them in the wholesale sports/ SIR catalog.
An itch I'll never scratch with the prices they command these days on the rare occasion they pop-up on the EE.
Anyone have a time machine they could rent me? I'll pick us up a few hundred thousand primers at 18$ a brick while I'm back there!

Get me a few kegs of 3031 and h4831 while you’re back there would ya?

I’d go back a short 5 years and get a VC Sagittaire Traquer from Tradex. Tell myself not to sell my 303 Brit no 1 and 454 casull R92 while I’m at it…

Ha should have kept my first Ruger no1 in 338wm… ho and a super Blackhawk 44 mag…..
and seeing at what prices are Winchester lever action going for these days, I use to have a dozen of them all pre 64’s… man ho man could have been rich!!

Bitcoin would have been hard to buy early 2000's.
I've talked with people who thought they had missed the boat getting in when it hit $100 a coin... :)

And to think people today complain about the house and white picket fence days being long gone.... Then some kid on tic tok can bring in millions dancing or another kid can do the same opening you boxes on YouTube .

Or the redit gang that took down a hedge fund last year...

There are some incredible wealth opportunities if you go for it and take a chance.

The sub title to this thread could be " you know your getting older when ....."

:)

Back in the 1970s my dad offered me a Parker-Hale 30-06 a buddy gave him in lieu of a loan repayment.

I had a rifle, my 243 and at the time I never anticipated ever going elk or moose hunting. I was regularly slaying blacktail deer and black bears with my 243.

"No thanks Dad, I've got a gun," I said.

Why not just buy bitcoin in the early 2000s and be damn near a billionaire.

I'm still kicking myself over that... Bought a knife from the US, the guy insisted to be paid in bitcoins.
- about $100 back then, they were selling at $1.25 CDN

Thought about exchange some more, just in case, never got around to... the rest is history...

How about the things you bought years ago and are glad you did?

Multiple firearms and reloading supplies 5-7 years ago.
A house in 2003.

Wish I bought a K11 and M1 Garand back then but thought they were too expensive.
