Loading for the 6.5-06

Running out of H-4831 and IMR-4350. Lots of Win 760 on hand, which very close on the burn rate chart to IMR-4350. Loading 140 grain Nosler match bullets. What say to 760 in this application? Lighter bullets would be okay, it's the 140 grain that gives me pause.
 
W760/H414 both very close to IMR 4350....about one grain faster in the 30-06 with 165 grain bullets.
Obviously they will work in your 6.5-06, but If you can find IMR 7828, it's a better choice.
Reloder 25/26 also excellent, and Norma MRP is superb. Dave.

Win 760 works great in the .270 win with 130-140gr bullets with a mag primer of course. No reason it wouldn't work in your 6.5-06 with 140gr. It's dandy with 140gr in my 7x57 as well.
 
If you have Win 760 .......try it ........what's the worst that can happen? It may be accurate or it may not?

I'll add H-414 and IMR-7828 to the list of powders I cannot find anywhere. :)

So, that definitely answers my question. :) Thanks for the data. I will be shooting long range at a nearby club with my Steyr SBS using Barnes 140 Grain Match Burners and Nosler 140 grain CC Match Bullets this summer and I will work on 760 as my powder then.

It does amazing things in a 250-3000 with 100gr bullets and a Rem 700 ............................... best group .123" at 100 yards.
 
Thread revived...

Didn't have to experiment with Win 760 after all. I found a good supply of Alliant Power Pro 4000 MR at the LGS, tried it, and it works beautifully. Alliant places it two doors down from H-4831 (my preferred powder, which I have used up) on the burn rate chart and the load data is actually identical (in my rifle). I was able to hit the 5" bull at 600 meters (660 yards). Very pleased. No, there is no more available now. I know, I had never heard of it either...
