How hard is it to remove the front sight assembly and flash hider on a CQ311
I am toying with the idea of putting A1 stock set on , but would beed to replace the rounded fitting against the fore sight with the triangular type for the triangular hand guard .
Is this achievable any obsticles to overcome ?

The pins are in tight!!! but they will come out. If you want to replace the butt stock as well pick up a 1/4 28 tap and re-thread the butt stock tube, otherwise you can't put on a longer butt stock.
Even when you put A2 handguards on, it is better to replace the front handguard retainer with a triangle one, A2 handguards work best with this configuration as well!

The A1 stock can't be put on a CQ buffer tube. You don't need triangles for A2 grips, nor do you need a tap and die set. You can force it one with oil and spinning it on and off, cleaning out the threads.

I didn't say "Need". But to do a proper job, a 1/4 28 tap makes it way cleaner. The A2 forend stocks were designed to use the trangular handguard retainer so why not use one? And an A2 butt stock will most definately fit on a CQ butt tube. No force required! When I hear stuff like "Force it on" all I can think of is "Bubba". The only force required in the whole operation is the force required to remove the front sight taper pins, to remove the front sight and replace the handguard retainer with the proper one. If you are going to do a job, isn't it better to do it correctly and properly?

The A1 I have fit on mine just fine. The Chinese tube is slightly larger in diameter but it seemed to slip on without any trouble. I set mine up with the triangle handguards and the A1 stock for a look alike Viet Nam issue A1.

Try Sarco in the States. That's where I got mine for my Armalite. They send by US Postal, too so no UPS Brokerage fess. Canada post just charges the proper duties. But they are under $45 for a set so you don't have to worry about duty unless ordering other stuff.

International orders, you have to email Dominic but he can send most of their stuff. Just certain items he can't because of US laws.
