Looking at possible getting one as they are on sale. Who has one, how is the accuracy and recoil, they are on the lighter side.

Thanks

What calibre? Can't speak to recoil without knowing.

I have a hunter in 270 WSM, I really like it, good fit, can shoot MOA consistently.

I have a wood-stocked A-Bolt 2 in 300wsm that is an honest sub-moa rifle. It is very light, just under 7 pounds on my kitchen scale wearing a 3-9 x 40 Leupold.

The recoil is fairly sharp but manageable if you use good form. If you get sloppy it will hurt you.

I've got a Synthetic stalker in .06 Shoots sub 1" groups with a variety of loads. Recoil is neglible. It's been a great gun, just wish I'd have bought stainless when I had the chance. Hunting the rainy west coast can be hard on toys!!

I bought the 30-06 Hunter, and fell in love with it from the first. Yes, it's a little lighter, but as mentioned, the recoil in nothing to worry about. I put a Burris Full Field 3-9x40 scope on it, and I'm doing 2" groups at roughly 120 feet. I'm no fantastic shot, but I think that's pretty good. Overall, I like everything about the rifle; from it's checkered wooden stock, right down to the clip. It's a very well thought out design, and it's feels right.

My go-to bolt rifle is an early-model A-Bolt Hunter in .280 I bought new in '92 or '93. Shoots MOA with pretty much any factory ammo, selected handloads go well sub-MOA. I like most of the features of the A-Bolt, even the magazine.
A-Bolts are light, but not featherweight rifles, and I believe the A-Bolt II's are about 4 oz. lighter than the older ones. Recoil of my .280 is a bit more noticeable than some of the older 24" barreled rifles of other makes I have shot in similar chamberings. That extra 1/2 or 3/4 lb of weight does make a slight difference. I'd buy another.

i have owned 3 myself (one is new, not fired yet). have 2 friends with them too. we all love them and none of us ever had a problem with them in any way. all shoot under and 1" at 100 yards, 4 of the 5 with factory ammo, one with reloads, this alone is impressive (30-06, 7mm mag, 2- 300wsm's and a 300 RUM). can't go wrong with one. i am a big time browning fan though and have no need to bother with trying anything else as a hunter. Have used other manufacturers, just not as impressed for factory guns.

3 of my 5 Borwnings are A-bolt II - 243, 270 and 300. No problem with anyone of them. The 300 shoots 1 MOA and 243 & 270 shoot better than 1 MOA.

The A-bolts are lighter than other rifles which is the way I like them. My 300 kicks pretty hard off the bench. In the field it is Okay as you don't feel anything.

Make sure you avoid the BOSS version.

A-blots fit me as well as Tikka. You should look at Tikka T3s as well.
