What is your go to Turkey Gun

I've been using a Remington 870 20 gauge for over a decade now. I've been through many iterations with it and have spent many patterning sessions with different shells, stock set ups, barrels, chokes, sights and scopes. Last year I think I finally settled on this iteration of the gun using Winchester Long Beard XR #5's.

It has a 18.5" barrel with a Carlson's matched Long Beard XR .568" constriction choke that is extended and ported. The stock is a Mesa Tactical LEO adapter with a Lucy, Magpul CTR buttstock with 1/2" riser and Limbsaver butt pad, True North nut and tube. The fore end is a Hogue OverMolded and the hand grip is a Magpul MIAD. The shell holder is also Mesa. The scope is an inexpensive Bushnell Trophy DOA 250 3-9x40 Muzzle Loader in Leupold PRW rings on a Weaver base.

It all works well together as set up and lots of it came from my parts bins.

Anyone think ontario will eventually allow 28ga and 410 for turkey with the advancements in ammo like tss gaining in popularity? Theyve added #7 shot but kept the gauges the same so far

They're moving awfully damn slow with changing policies. Those who are in charge need to get with the times and realize there are are very dense and lethal shot types out there... and non toxic as a bonus. Why wouldn't they want to promote that?

Maybe the number of idiots outweigh the number of ethical hunters. Personally id prefer the greater challenge of using a subgauge or even a rimfire. Shooting a bird on the ground really isnt that hard. I mean my 10ga guns throw 2.25oz of shot and i have killing patterns out passed 50 yards.
Ive find it kinda funny those that put other hunters down for shooting a grouse on the ground or from a tree branch or water swatting a duck get so thrilled about turkey hunting. Rimfire and subgauges are legal for grouse and 410s and 28s are legal for geese
