No percussion caps anywhere?

Local here in Manitoba everything is getting hard to find , even the common centerfire cartridges are out of stock.

The tinfoil hat groups are saying that its the gov way of getting everything out of your hands....

I will be shooting the flintlocks more

was at the outdoor range last year and seen a guy using these "red caps"..LOL
they looked like they worked. He had no issues while using them. He said they are a Tight #10 fit
Would I try it ? ......I dont think so. Just doesnt seem like a good idea.

I use these on my 1860 Army. Work very well when primed with a little 4F. Corrosive, who knows? I clean my black powder non-firearms religiously.

well after reading these posts,..I was convinced that they might be safe to use.

So I went to the "Dollar Store" and picked some up.
These are crazy cheap. 1 dollar a pack.
I tried them on my 1858 rem 44 and had NO issues.
going back to pick up a HUDGE Bunch. they had other brands to. so I will find out what works the best.

Wonder if they'd set off a small caliber side-lock? Might be worth machining a nipple to take them for the 32cal. Caps are tye biggest cost to shoot that thing.

Hmmm... Heard of using those for years but never seriously considered it. I'm surprised they work in revolvers as I figured the plastic would be too thick and bind things up. Also wondered if they had enough power to be reliable.

Now that caps are hard to find and are starting to make fancy 22rf ammo look cheap I might have to give it a try. I often get hundreds of shots from a flint so that's been the standby for most ml shooting.

well crap...went back to the store to get some more, but they were changing to "summer stock" and they are not selling cap guns or the caps anymore. Instead, they are selling "nerf" guns ???

so I went to 2 more stores and got the same result !
finally went to a smaller Dollar store and found the cap guns and ammo. they also said that they were NOT bringing anymore in. they wre changing to Nerf.
so...I did the right thing and bought all they had. This toy gun thing is getting Rediculous.
anyway, get them while you can or you will be going "pew pew" with your finger. lol
