Now we know that if the Chinese invade, we just need ample eye protection and we will be able to drive them off.
In all honesty though - looks like a great tool to add to the training toolbox - especially if you own an unattached home with a basement.
Find the same make and model of the pistol one normally shoots in an airsoft variant, and shoot practice stages in your basement till the cows come home (or till the wife comes after you with a frying pan due to the racket) - great way to practice in the evenings, in addition to dry firing, perhaps?

I tried a CO2 pistol with a similar size/shape to my Glock, but it just wasn't the same....mag changes, etc, not satisfied with the product.
If someone had a G-17 airsoft that was decent, I'd think about grabbing it to use downstairs here.

I used to have one airsoft G17, with blow-back(slide move when shot), and extra gas eject from the muzzle as smoke effect, so you do have a little bit of recoil like a .22LR, weight added, making holes in pop cans 10 feet away,99% look like a real one...urban legend said a undercover police put one real and one fake (gen 1, G17) on the countertop for the (airsoft) gunshopkeeper to pick...

I'm sure they'll figure out a way to use .22 blanks somewhere in there so you get the bang and the ejecting brass eventually.

One reason why I continually fight allowing air soft into IPSC at the General Assembly. Believe it or not, there are movements from the UK, France and some Asian Regions to try get IPSC to recognize air soft as one of IPSC's divisions.
Can you picture that? At the World Shoot, the guy who won shooting an actual handgun gets the same recognition as someone with a pea shooter?
Cooper would rise up from his grave and go zombie on us.

ahem.... We can't in Canada... the airsoft we'd want to use like the ones they use in Japan and China etc...that simulated/operate as originals are considered replicas and are prohibited in Canada ... just because you can buy them from some websites doesn't maen they are legal... try walking down the street with one or have an outdoor match in your back yard in an Urban setting and wait and see....so IMO Sean I don't think it's a real option or concern for us in Canada.. ooops sorry unless they are made out of that nifty clear or colourful plastic parts that clearly identifies them as toys... I know lets have a squirt gun match

Machoism aside, how it is different, other then the power factor (Just like Minor to major).
The only difference I can see is the course size (Due to shorter ranges).. but if the course is different then they can't be doing the same match as non-airsoft competitors.. so what you get is an "airsoft only match", run with IPSC rules.

DVC - Accuracy, Power, Speed. One primary element is completely absent. That has nothing to do with Machismo.
Every firearm employed in IPSC is being used in the real world today (even Race Guns) for real offensive and defensive firearm situations.
Where are airsoft guns being used besides for playing around or training for the real thing?
Airsoft is OK on its own, it just has no place in IPSC as far as I am concerned.
