Large rifle vs large magnum rifle primers

I am wondering if I can use Federal Large Magnum primers in place of Federal Large rifle primers for my .270?

Sure you can, but you should back off your load a couple of grains and work up again.

In my experience there isn't a lot of difference. If your load was developed with large rifle primers and is a warm load, best to drop down 3% (approx 1.5grs in a 270)

You could use them with cast without any problems too.

When I used to use more ball powders I used to use magnum primers all the time in the 270.

Yeah, I had enough cold weather hang fires in .270 with ball powder and standard primers that .270 gets Mag primers everytime.
