I have a lot of WAA12R, SP12 and RP12 wads laying around. While I know these are specifically for 1-1/4oz and heavier, anybody ever try them 1-1/8oz loads. I’m sure I could get them to crimp if a fiddled with the crimp settings. Anybody ever try this? I’m using AA, Remington hulls and red dot.

Me I would sell them and buy the right wad not expensive . Slug reloaders as one example love the old 12R's and buckshot guys the sp12
Cheers

Those red WAA 12R’s are great for 1 oz loads in 2 1/2” cases. Use a 20 gauge 1/8” wad or similar under the shot to bring it up level with the top of the wad.

I got really good results with that WAA12R wad and an 8 pellet load of 00 buck in a WW AA hull(1 oz load). also great results with the same wad, AA hulls and the 525 gr Lyman pellet slug. it's actually a very versatile wad, can't say for the other two wads you listed.

I had best results with the Lyman 525 with Longshot and the 12S3 wad.
