I tossed in a bid. Don't mind paying but more if it is going to a good cause. Wish it was in .357 though

We heard back from the auction house - no sales tax is applied to the sale of donated items for the purpose of raising funds for a non-profit. The winning bid for each rifle is what the winner will pay - no fees, taxes or freight.

Why an auction and not a raffle?

Two reasons: our goal is to raise as much funding as possible - generally, a raffle has a limited number of tickets. Secondly, a legal raffle is complicated, as the organization operating the raffle requires registration in each province where tickets are sold.

Only just scratches the surface even. Several companies offer "promotional giveaways" and while you may want to use the verbiage interchangeably, an actual raffle, such as the STARS lottery, Red Deer Hospital lottery, and Foothills Hospital Home Lottery, Calgary Flames 50/50, etc... you can only really get those licenses if it's a charity running it.

Thank you for what you're doing for the community!

I predict these new Ruger/Marlin 45-70's could sell on the EE for over $3500.00.

Used JM and Remington/Marlins have already sold for close to $3000.00.

An asking price for new in box Ruger/Marlin might see $4000.00.

I have never seen a lever action craze like this ever before.

People will be buying two, sell one to pay for the first.
