I am looking for a true plinking gun. Something fun, accurate, im going to say .177 pellet or even BB. something to pack on camping trips , set up some cans and have some fun contents between friends.
ideally no air cannisters, as that just brings up cost to use.
break action or maybe pump ? i dont know if any handguns fit this without the air tank.

Check princess auto.

I got a great break action .177 for about $50 last year and its turned out to be a tack driver.

Crosman 1377, Beeman P17 even a Crosman 2240 if you would be ok with a co2 pellet gun. Any of these would fit the description of what you are looking for.

This one is youth size but that may actually be a good thing if space is an issue.
The synthetic stock is good for durability too

Can you still get a pea/bean shooter?
When I was very small, I vaguely remember my cousins and uncles had spring powered pistols that would fire a navy bean hard enough that you didn't want to get hit by it.

I bought a Crossman 1322 for this same reason, it's accurate and it is very easy to hit the advertised 460 fps with a .22 pellet. There is a huge aftermarket for these pistols as well.

Hi,I have a Crossman 1377 air pistol with target sights. The fore grip pulls down to pressurize.\good power.Bolt action with safety.$100 with box of .177 pellets.Send your e-mail for pics.
Regards
Bert.

I picked Beeman P17 for my camping trips. First of all it's cheap and I won't freak out if I lose it or break it. Second - it's quite accurate and powerful enough to make a exit hole in beer can at 30m. Third - it doesn't have any springs, CO2 etc, - all it's needs are pellets. As a bonus - this gun it's very simple and most likely it will need just a couple of seals to replace once in a few years to get going.

My 1322 is very accurate but multi pumping can take the fun out if you plan on shooting lots. .22 hits hard at 10 pumps.
I also have a Stoeger XP4 which is also a fun plinker. Single pump .177 pellets.
