Do not order items made or distributed by frankford arsenal

This is not the point (by the way, I have had a lot of wins and very few losses; even with this one, free return for full refund. No risk to me.

The point is that Frankford will not ship parts to canada, warranty or not. Something I would not have found out until i needed something else. Bargain or not, parts availability is a deal breaker. If you had read the rest of my posts, you would know that is why I am looking for a new press... I can't get parts for my worn-out old Lyman I have have had for 40 + years, and that I have been limping through for about the last three years.

I am responsible for some very big presses at work; automotive glass encapsulation. We have two presses less than 10 years old and the company is out of business. Something breaks, it is reverse engineering and custom build because no OEM, no OEM parts. I have enough of that s*** in my life without bringing it home.

Would you buy a car, even a used car for frequent use if you new you could not buy parts for it??

you mean like a Saturn? answer yes if the issue was a bulb, my guess is Frankford would have parts for the press had it been a issue with the press, this case is the light, if its from China it may be no longer available and if the press lasts 40 years it stood the test of time.

as for the press 10 years old and out of service many businesses were hurt and closed last few years, what broke? I have molding machines yes 10 years they wear out, we either make the part, adapt another part, never had to junk a machine unless it suffered a major destructive event

Lee/lyman/hornady Ive had zero issues with warranty and sending stuff back and fourth. Same issue with dillon tho.

Buy something high end and cry once and get it over with. With the money Ive wasted on cheaper presses, dies, etc I could of just bought a nice one to start with.
I ended up with the area 419 zero press.

Tumblers aren’t going to be controlled by the Dept of Congress like reloading parts are. It’s surprising FA hasn’t signed up with them. Very uncool.

Btw, Hornady is great with Canadians. I accidentally left powder in my hopper and it distorted it. They sent me a new one, no problem.

Lee is the same.

Several years ago Midway (who owns FA) was caught shipping stuff out of the country without permits (I don't know all the details) and got slapped with a $250,000 fine. Ever since then they have refused to ship gun stuff out of the US. In fact I tried to call them once and their phone message said something like "You're calling from Canada and we don't ship there." You couldn't even talk to a person to explain.

lots of companies no longer or simply don't ship to Canada and this is not exclusive to reloading stuff.
If the company's product is not export licensed for Canada , it can't be shipped here.
I have run into this several times when trying to get components or replacement parts for some of my fishing equipment. From Ice hut parts to fishing lures/components and fishing rod building blanks and components. Not even controlled items but all still require export licensing.
We are a small market to any US company and as someone else mentioned, California and Canada share a similar population size and that is only one state.
I get uncontrolled items sent to my cousin in arizona and she sends it on to me. Costs a bit more in shipping all the way from arizona but if it's something I really need and the company refuses to ship it to me , I don't care about the extra shipping cost.

You could prob find a replacement light on e bay for the press
I wouldn’t be sending it back because of a light
He’s sending it back because FA won’t be able to warranty the press. If something broke, he’ll be SOL. I wouldn’t want one either.

LOL, yes. Glad a few people get it.

Just ordered a Rock Chucker; I know I can get parts for it.
