Klondike 30 30 commemorative value?? Please

I am following as I have a few as well. Back in the day I thought I had made a great purchase as mine have boxes that are beat up to find out the box was worth as much if not more than the gun. The condition of the box was critical. That was way back then, however.

I definitely see what people try to sell them for but I'm definitely not convinced they sell for that price or at all.

Have you seen the prices lately lol
I think it’s worth more than that.
I’m thinking $1200 to $1500

The prices on the wins are up and down like a yo-yo.

About 6 months back I got one on here for $250 .

I wouldn't go more that a grand, but for a gun I really want, price is no object. Only the ol' lady stands in the way!;)

Pretty sure that while they look pretty ( pretty gaudy IMO), their actions aren't going to keep any pre-64's up at night.
Someone might pay that sorta coin...but I'll bet y0u see in excess of a half dozen BTT before you see a nibble. Don't give up though...some stalwart souls have 3 pages of BTT listings.
I'm going 800 on it's best day...by someone who doesn't know what it actually is.

It’s not mine.
And you won’t see it on the EE.
It had some really nice wood and bluing as well.
In reality, I like em all, no matter what I say.

Yes, it is for a collector and a collector wants the box. Without the box it’s just a nice looking rifle, unless you find someone that really wants it. Value, I was told back then, was without the box it wasn’t worth anything more than a standard rifle. Don’t forget the finish on them is not made to withstand use, either. While the prices look like they are fluctuating lots, and a few might sell high, most don’t. Good luck.

You posted as I typed, your right all day long. IMHO.

Yes ,I agree. It’s only half there.

I have same rifle. Acquired in a group "all-or-nothing" buy.
Perfect, Unfired, no box, no ammo, no papers. Listed in the usual couple places for $1200. I turned down $1000 shipped.
My son fell in love with it so I kept it. How I have my eye on a Henry brass big boy for him instead of something that'll drop in "value" by X% if it's shot.

I think I'll relist it at $1300 and see what happens. If it doesn't sell I don't care, I just need to convince him since he's "claimed it".

For a commemorative rifle it doesn’t look like they put much time and effort into making it pop to a collector. There was a conservation officer 30/30 listed on the EE that looked amazing. I’m not sure if it’s even worth 850 as some have suggested as it doesn’t seem to be a nice as what you would expect. Just my 2 pennies.

As someone recently posted here, Winchester issued a commemorative Model '94 just about every time they had a picnic.

I guess there are people who still buy them thinking that they are worth something, but I always remember what a record collecting friend told me: Anything that is labelled and sold as a "Collectable" or "Collector's Item" isn't.

I agree, it’s got to be rare and old.
There’s a Garand at the gun store .308 $3000.
Now maybe that’s a collectible?
