Well, from a supplier down here by name of SAMHUNTVIC , i just seen this on the fb.

im not a big fan of the price rise ha ha- that brings them to a $1 a pop...... which is Speer grand slam pricing- an for larger cals its TTSX pricing.. but to be realistic, its not Bad, or excessive for their product.

I'd like to see them back up and going again, I quite like their bullet line for moderate range hunting needs

I'd take Woodleighs over many of our common bullets any day, and twice on Sunday for the Barnes. International pricing is a funny thing; my eye-brows went up when I saw Hornady Inter-locks, and Sierras sell for more than Woodleighs in AU, but my jaw dropped when I bought Norma factory ammo for less than Federal blue box, and cheaper than the empty brass at home.

I'll throw in a disclaimer that they are a better moderate range bullet than a long range; but that covers a lot of hunting. Most of it actually.

There is weird times where a brand like sellior bellot, or norma are cheaper than Fed blues..... all the Super x etc is priced uppp.....

Yep tend to agree the projectiles forte is that sub 400m even fair to say most in the up to 300m they are so reliable in their performance!

i almost jumped in an grabbed a box off SHV, but i have so many Hornady 180s now, thats where im at :)

interesting to note, from 100 meters on a inch deep gong, the 150 ppsn makes a larger hole than the 180 btsp...... i suspect velocity plays a role in this example.


will be good to have the woodleigh option thogh, all my rifles will go back to woodleighs after this 12 months

Damn, I've got plenty of those Hornadys in 9.3mm on the shelf and I'd damn sure trade them for Woodleighs!

Hornady Interlocks are great bullets. It's just crazy to see them sell for twice what Woodleighs were priced at; which were in turn more than they were in Canada. Some of my friends there were quite adept at international price shopping; for instance Finland was the hot tip for S&B scopes. Others assumed that whatever cost the most must be the best, not realizing that the price was high because of punitive import duties applied to some countries.

Ever make any knives with the chital antlers?

i've not been up into chital country in the north, seen some in NSW once but off limit to me lol, we were chsing pigs and they were in the neighbours.
so nah ive not shot em, or had antlers to create, i did see some , were quite spindly thin an long, certainly no mass to them

Ive heard that it may be built up an Sold or under new management maybe? but im not sure on that yet.
i guess if the demand was high enough for woodleighs previous, i dont see why they wont stock them again, unless the price increase is over the threshod. ?

The thing with Chital anthers is you have to get the right ones, what we call "bladed" which aren't exactly normal but not super un-common either. Given that; its so dense that it makes Sambar look like a POS. It's a knifemaker thing; and was actually directed to BUM.

As a side note; those Chitals are some seriously good eating and beautiful hides.

oh righto, thats quite dramatic.. have heard the sambar is up ther in regard to knive handles from memory but i may be wrong.

Have heard that about their tablefare , kind of interesting to believe cos they are sometimes in some ####ty country sorta, if they were down here on dairy country they would be amazing ha ha
 
Tradex is not the only game in town for woodleighs, Rick Lepp in Cochrane sells them and will order them for you. His info is on the woodleigh website.

Still has some in stock in 338, 358 and various big bores last I saw but might be running low with it being gunshow season

Sadly, I'd doubt it. They always had awesome stock and were great to deal with but if you visit their site now, it seems barren of anything. All their rifles are gone - maybe gave their stock to intersuplus? They also stopped advertising on CGN. Seems like they are winding down now (which they promised to do for several years now).

I've managed to find Woodleigh bullets at a few other places in Canada lately.
 
yup, tradex is no more. The owners have retired, which they announced some time ago and slowly wound things down and from what I have read in the dealers forums, their inventory can now be found at intersurplus
