So whos buying a CZ Bren 2 MS ? Its non res !

The new Bren 2 stock does everything that the ACR stock does. It folds, retracts, and has an adjustable cheek-riser. Plus the Bren 2 stock matches the existing aesthetic of the rifle with the grid-lines, etc. I love the ACR stock for what it is, and have one on my APC 308. That said, the ACR stock is not the end all and be all of Buttstocks. The new Bren 2 Buttstock does everything the ACR stock does, and matches the rifle while doing it. What's not to like?

Well, I've never had the CZ stock in front of me but a lot of US owners prefer the ACR stock at significant extra expense, so if I was buying from scratch I'd be inclined to go that way.

Lots of folks just want a "custom" look and are willing to pay for it. Different doesn't necessarily mean "better" in my humble experience. I am glad to have scored one of the CZ Buttstocks to complete the rifle, although I wouldn't have been heartbroken to have to go the ACR Buttstock route for the same $299 USD price from IRG.

I agree, the oem stock has been proven to also be rock solid with zero play while a few different stock adapters still sem to have a bit of wobble to them
That said i actually believe these aren't genuine acr stocks from F5. I think they are made in house by them also, so who's to say same quality is there or not ad a genuine magpul/bushy stock

The CSA Vz58s had new receivers, and may have even had some new production parts - it is hard to say as those would be identical to the surplus parts that fuelled the VZ-58s that came into Canada. I am willing to bet however, that costs were kept down with the CSA Vz58 through the use of mostly surplus parts.

I had a CSA Vz58. It was 100% all new parts. Furniture was kind of ####ty. Airsofty. Everything else was very high quality. Barrel was made by Lothar Walther. It retailed for twice of "surplus" imports, I think I bought it for 1500 with taxes.

Now factor in inflation and see what that $1500 is worth in 2022 dollars. I bet you'd be spending well over $2K for that same rifle today. The cost of everything including groceries, fuel and housing has risen exponentially....

They're $1700 in the states, so yep, $2100 in canuck pesos

Welcome to a pandemic supply slowdown, and government 'corrections' with a demand spike thrown in

Oh, I am not arguing that. I just loved the VZ.

Also, considering that B&T cloned SCAR, and CZ cloned B&T we should compare pricing of Bren 2 to those two. I think it is very competitive.

Maybe the government would trade our VZ for CZ as they can't seem to get a "buyback" program running. In this way they would get all those evil VZs out of the hands of the public and give us all nice safe CZ instead!

CTCSupplies has announced on Reddit they have joined the Bren 2 retailers club. They are to be on sale in limited numbers tomorrow or Saturday, shipping on Monday. More to come in May. To be clear, this is an entirely separate import from the other two importers bringing in the Bren 2. Restricted Bren 2s are coming from the U.S., with NR from the Czech Republic to come in the fall

Edit: corrected sale date

Note that like the other retailers, and despite the pictures, these are coming in registered as rifles with buffer tube adapters and stocks. When the NR rifles come in the fall, they will have the factory folder, as they apparently coming direct from the Czech Republic factory.

Was told that the ones coming from North Sylva will have the factory stock. Wouldn't purchase one that has the buffer tube adapters/stock

You will end up paying for that factory Buttstock one way or the other. I'm willing to bet that if CTCS is selling with the Buffer Tube adapter for $3K, then NS will be selling with the factory Buttstock for at least $3300....

As an aside, photos of the British former Royal Marine killed in action the other day in the Ukraine show him holding a CZ Bren. I had wondered who was receiving and fielding the Bren 2 within the Ukrainian forces, and it turns out that at least one of the Battalions within the Foreign Brigades of the International Legion has been so equipped. I have seen video where other foreign volunteers were fielding brand new FN FNC rifles donated by Belgium. Very cool to see reputable Western European arms makers step up with donations of their military production. Here's a photo of a couple of volunteers with the International Legion rocking obviously brand-new Bren 2's in what appears to be 5.56mm. Probaby both chamberings in use, depending on what CZ happens to be pumping out of the factory at any given time.

My order through IRG, with the Factory Buttstock and a $50 Export Fee was $3015 CAD based on today's exchange rate. So you are correct, the "going rate", at least through IRG was roughly $3K when they had Factory Stocks available and $300 USD cheaper without. Based on that, it would seem that CTCS is charging the same as the other guys for a rifle without the $300 Factory Buttstock. Buyer beware....

This exactly. I paid almost the same as a Canadian imported one but got 3x spare mags, AR stock adapter and Bren stock. Plus mine says CZ Kansas on it, along with it being 7.62x39 lol.........
