Vortex Venom

Got My New Vortex Venom today - Bloody BIG & Heavy scope - Looks Very Robust ! LOL could prob pound fence posts in with it ! RJ

Post some pics of that scope. I have been looking back and forth between the Venom and the Strike Eagle. Supposedly they are very close in quality except the strike eagle has zero stop and illumination.

The Venom is ~35 ounces vs Strike Eagle at 30 ounces. What does your scope weigh?

Vortex has a video comparison on YouTube. Strike Eagle supposedly has better glass, eye box and more elevation if I recall but no first hand experience with the Venom. My Strike Eagle has been great.

^ this, lots more elevation, the Strike Eagle is a great rimfire scope if you like to dial out to well past 300m

Got a look at both. Grabbed the Strike Eagle. I’ve been a hater for years (crossfire etc junk). 5 ounces lighter, 1”+ shorter than the venom. I have to say I’m pretty happy with it. It is the heaviest scope I have purchased to date.

Vortex Precision matched, only because they were in stock in LGS, but it was all about convenience as I was shooting 30mins after my purchase. A buddy just used some talley 34mm modern sporter rings and they look good for 1/2 the price.

One thing about the Strike Eagle on a 22, for pests and varmints at unknown distance, when adjusting the parallax at as high a magnification as practical I can tell the distance within about 5 yards out to 150. The numbers on the parallax dial match up to my range finder almost exact.
