LUSA Firearms

I think Questar has been trying to get them in for a year now. The US State Dep't is holding them up.

They are legal in Canada.

LUSA is currently trying to appeal the decision by US State Department that the LUSA firearms are not approved for export to civilian end users or for commercial resale. They are fully legal civilian guns in the US and approved by ATF for civilian sale.

We have 2 fantastic (export only) models all set to go with LUSA if we can convince State Department to reverse their decision. One is a LUSA Pistol and the other is an 18.5" non-restricted Rifle version.

Honestly I don't think the odds are very good that they will but we've been working on this for over a year now and we'll keep trying until there are no more options left.

We don't give up that easy :)

Boomer, I recently examined one with the long fake can. It is not HK at all, has neat cocking handles and the stock slides out and then pivots down is is pretty comfortable. The mag well is very long and really should be tapered to speed mag insertion. But that long well makes it reliable as you know. I think I have some pictures of it somewhere...
 
I have one I'd love to sell you (sitting at our Port Huron office)...

But US State Department will NOT approved them for civilian export.

There's a really nice MSAR sitting there as well but they won't approve those either.

Currently classified as a "Prohibited" variant but we believe that this could have been overturned... we got Classifications Branch agree to review their classification but US State Department won't approve them for export as they deem them to be non-sporting firearms for Military or LE use only.

Not really worth the bother of getting it re-classified here if we can't get export approvals anyway... it's a futile effort.

We finally have a chance at a gov't that may help us with these...and the US of all places is stopping us from enjoying them!

Good Luck! I think it will get worse in the US before it gets better.
I've been following the "Enemy At The Gates" articles in SWAT magazine. They have their hands full down there with legislators trying to make a name for themselves by trying to have the 2nd ammendment re-interpretted (ie: changed) so it does not *gaurantee* the right to bare arms.
