My reloading room is being moved out of the basement and into the shop. As part of this process I’ll be losing my sturdy table that my reloading press is mounted to. Does anyone have a design for a press stand that is either mounted to the wall or free standing? I’m looking for something that isn’t an eyesore either. I remember there was a thread on this some years ago, but I can’t find that original thread.

Need more info. Do you have a spot picked out? What are the dimensions of the space? What press(es) do you have to mount? Do you plan to expand that at some point? Do you have any work benches or will you need space on your stand for a tray or lube or...?

I have a room that’s 12x16 and a commercial cubical desk that I moved in there. The top of the desk isn’t sturdy enough to mount directly to it without reinforcing it. I have an RCBS chargemaster that I run on a separate table so that using the press doesn’t interfere with it. So I guess my idea was to mount the press on the wall or on an stand alone stand next to the desk and use the desk as my working surface. The press is a Rockchucker.

If you need reinforcing for a table you can get telescoping legs at Ikea that you can screw/bolt under the press. I'm using a light desk with a reinforcing leg under each front corner. It works great with a riser base with a Rockchucker. 20211015_174633.jpg

Made a stand years ago. Truck wheel, 4" steel pipe, plate on top. Could be moved by tipping and rolling.

I have similar as a bench grinder mount so that I can move it around in the shop - never thought to try a reloading press on there - did you find that it wanted to tip over? Just looking at my own Rockchucker press - as handle goes horizontal, about when maximum "up" force being applied by ram - like when re-forming one case into another - is a fair bit of wanting to "tip" - to pull away from vertical - maybe is not such an issue for "normal" resizing / reloading??

No problem with tipping. Good sized truck wheel.

Used these:

And adjustable leveling feet with added nut between feet and 2x4 legs to lock them..

My old, heavy Oliver stringing machine in the middle.

Hardwood stair thread as the table top, similar to this:

Thread is bolted to Oliver's Turntable.

Two other presses on Inline Fabrication storage docks.

Google is your friend. Look for “reloading bench plans”.

I picked a good one out, massaged the measurements to my liking and build it. Very sturdy and I’m totally happy with it.

I use a steel stand that was originally for a vise
It works perfect as it’s strong, and can be moved around no problem
I like that when I’m done reloading I can tip it to the side and all the unused primers slide back out into the holder

I'm looking at the bamboo stool from Canadian Tire it's a two-step step stool but I'm also looking at the Lee precision stand not sure yet though, I own 2 presses, the deluxe app and 50th anniversary breech Lock press

I use a beefed-up, rebuilt "work-mate" type of stand. The In-line Fabrication quick detachable base plate allows me to switch presses for any number of items & I can move my "work-bench" anywhere I want, instead of only having it in the basement work room.

I now have a permanent bench for reloading, but I used a set-up like above for years with no issues.
