So you bought, or sold a gun weeks ago. Does this sale get to go through? And can you buy or sell a gun until this new bill becomes the law of the land? So you bought a gun, or sold a gun or here (prior to to this new bill) but the transfer was never processed. What will be the correct procedure? Full refund, discounted refund and so on?

Lots of unknowns at this point I think....

Only heard about this through third party. Until I see a letter from the RCMP, I’m assuming everything is as they were.

Assuming everyone watches paid-for media or social networks is just yet another Liberal blunder.

I agree unless they do an Order in Council. That would side step things and push things through.

The crazy thing here is this will severely impact a lot of police. There are a pretty big number of police off on PTSD. I think they all could lose their guns. And how could a police work if they have PTSD if they cannot have a gun? You can't suck and blow. If this applies to a normal citizen that why not a member of police or military? If it applies to a normal citizen and the military, why not the police?

On some of the other threads here it has been started that the ban on transfers would be immediate by OIC.

It would not surprise me if he does the OIC route. Turds is a zealot and zealots have to zealot. He has his new best friends Wendy etc.

So assuming he does the OIC, and effective immediately no buying or selling. What is a person to do? You have a gun sold and paid for but the transfer is not put through? Or you bought a gun and paid for it and it is not in your name? There are issues that make this more complicated. Like I sold two guns out west, transferred in 2-3 days. Meanwhile Ontario a month and counting.

Just interested in the groups thoughts. Disinterested (uninvolved) parties. Obviously, I sold a gun and it is not transferred. So I have skin in the game. The buyer has skin in the game as well.

I am having a hard time seeing how this handgun ban is going to persist. It is completely stupid and ineffective as is any initiative the boy wonder has tried. This has the desperation comparable to invoking the emergency orders a few months ago.

I suspect reality will set in as Canadians and politicians start to think this through. At least it may reopen the debate about the social and racial problems and unwillingness to use laws and enforcement that have been on the books for a long time. Needless to say, hobby and sport shooting is a big business in Canada and a LOT of people enjoy getting out to the range. Are retailers with inventory SOL ?

It is also unfair to people interested in getting into the sport. This ruins a whole industry overnight. And for what? Canada doesn't have a mass shooting problem. Our gun crimes are related to violence in black gangs. Everyone knows it but tries to ignore it. Its like saying women can have a ##### and men can have babies. Reality is optional these days.

I can only hope Pierre P can help derail this nonsense. BTW, this action is so drastic that it will get picked up on world media, just like the trucker's strike and the emergency measures. And the judgment on the Clown will be just as harsh.

It might reopen the constitution. We have the right to own property made into a constitutional right. I mean, this is a valuable property and over night it is made useless for ever??? How is this the right thing to do in any world? At least the 12.6 people could sell their property to other 12.6, in some cases 12.6 could bequeath them to 12.7. In this case it is okay to own but not okay to ever sell or even an estate cannot dispose of them???

It's pretty £ucking disgusting actually. A CSSA thread says "Before business opened this morning, the RCMP Canadian Firearms Centre shut down firearm retailers’ ability to verify Possession and Acquisition Licenses and perform restricted firearm transfers." But in another part of the email it said OIC won't come in effect until mid October. It's all rather confusing.

I just bought another "N" Frame S&W. I called my gun dealer an hour ago and they had sold 100 guns and this is like noonish. WTF over. little socks has screwed everything he has laid his hands on why wouldn't this be the same? Best gun salesman in the country.
