It mentions spring weight...after it had fasted all winter in its den it still weighed more than most bears do that hunters shoot in the fall.

I think because it had to dry out to be scored, thats probably the reason of the timing, i know my spring blackie i got in 05 was 565lbs, but he was fed real good!

Its not that he didnt' want to, its because no hat was big enought. Thankfully he now has enough hide to make one
