Hi-standard Model H-d Military Pistol

It looks like they have some collectibility, only 6900 made starting in 1940. Without actually handling it to asses condition its hard to put a correct value on it. My 7 year old Standard Catalog of Firearms states $550 in good or $375 in fair condition. The issue with a collectible is alway to find the right buyer.

Also, Canadian prices aren't quite the same as the US...totally different market.

There are three different models of HD pistols.

The model HD is by far the rarest with only 6900 being made in the early 40's. This gun would probably be worth in excess of $1500 - $2000 in the US.

The model HD-USA is the second rarest with 34,000 being made during WWII.

The HD Military (the one you have) were made post war and there are roughly 150,000 of them out there.

So unfortunately your gun is the most common and the least collectible. It is probably worth about $300 or so but only someone interested in Hi Standards will likely be interested in it as these pistols aren't all that well known. Your gun has some non-original grips on it which will reduce its value.

FWIW I have a model HD-USA and paid an absolute fortune for it in the US. :( However it is a pretty cool gun with a bit of military history. :)

Notice how unreliable (LOW BALLING) the quotes can be.

A quick search easily brings up 2 to 3 times that figure quoted, maybe more.

Best to look at many sources and not to put all your eggs in one basket when asking for a price. Look around first and do your homework!
