Resto-Mod Custom Hunting Rifle

Has anyone done or seen a rifle with all modern components but a walnut stock?

I have only found one in my searching online here.

Custom guns are very nice, but expensive. BTDT.

I'd be tempted to buy a used FN, pre64 M70 or BRNO (or similar) and have it gone over by a good smith.

Iv been learning / dabbling in stock making for a few years now, my first few were old classic rifles, my current project is stocking a custom 6.5prc I had built. Defiance Anti action with a #1 22” benchmark barrel. I found it a breeze to inlet for vs the one Mauser I did lol.

What drew me to doing this was like you mentioned, old style walnut with modern metal, not something a person see’s very often. It’s more of a winter hobby, so stuffs put away now until the days get short again.







My next project will go into this blank, a 7 saum build on a defiance deviant action with a carbon barrel.

^^^ I dabbled with making a stock just to see if I could do it. It turned out not bad but the inletting was a little rough, lol. That blank will turn out gorgeous when it's done. Good work btw.
