Type-81 pictures, range reports, and modifications thread

Anybody getting some orange (not rust, more brass coloured) discolouration on their BCG and around the breach to the barrel? I shoot non-corrosive, and clean often, so I'm not too worried. Will post pics when home from work.

something surprising me today. while trying to put a scope or prism on the russian piccatiny rail attached to the kobra mount system ...

while the kobra did not need adjustment i needed a better rest like svd cheek rest to make it work. i lowered the prism arms mount but still.

trying to adapt an ak scope by changing the lower part to see how it fits.

the mount is really high.

any hints or experience?

Love the pbs faux suppressor. Set screws to hold it on?

now thats an interesting fake suppressor. whats it? did your removed the old GL?

Yup it’s a faux pbs Wolverine. Done by none other than our own @scarab66

Set screws hold it on.

I actually had a question. Should I reposition them LPVo further back to avoid ejecting shells hitting the optic? Kinda nervous that it would

for the second part it is more what your confort for your eyes or your body is telling you. did you shoot it in that configuration.

If u have a smart phone like the galaxy, u can use the super slow-mo recording feature to record the casings leaving the action. I noticed they tend to twirl around quite a bit leaving the ejection port. 1 in every 4 shots would clip the tube on my SVD optic.

so we have to limit to shot only 3 times lol in a row... there is always an answer and help coming from here, which i really enjoy. thank you: Murray and others of course.

Still no 3rd party sight mount for this rifle available to fit the holes in the rifle bought from tactical imports? Sad this rifle still has almost no Aftermarket support.

The member named Gyroscope on this thread is currently working on a picatinny rail handguard. Looks great from the prototypes he was showing here. Can't wait

well one another member was working on something but i do not know where he is now with the project: he posted a very promising video on youtube as well ...

the main reason why not that muck aftermarket support: it is already working great for what it is and the options for optic mount offered by ti are working. now this is also because of uncertain time: will you blame developpers for not spending time and money knowing that maybe this fall the rifle will be a safe star?
