Canadian Geographic had an article about the Wild Horses of the Chilcoten and brands were visible in the photos.

Some of them around here at least, are Native horses on the loose, there's a herd of pintos west of rocky.

The more feral horses gone the better! Now if we can get it to go after pigs too, that would be good. Some of these so called wild horses have brands and a couple had a shoe or two still.

Not unheard of for "kind" people to abandon their unwanted horses out there either.

oh I saw a video of a bear getting a hold of a piglet, it was violent

as for the Grizzly, its just nature, bear is going to get the weak one sooner or later.

Bears being bears and horses being horses .. in the wild of course. Depends on which camp the critter lovers stay at will depend on which get's cheered on.

In the late 60s and early 70s these horses were shot regularly. Some were trapped. They sold still be shot, I’d rather see elk.

There were formerly many around here. They were hard on the Range and the Stallions were a problem. I believe they were all shot.
