Whats the turn around for date of purchase to transfer looking like? Pistols

do you guys know if cfos treat all pending transfers from one individual at once, given that one purchased a few toys days apart and that they are backlogged ? i suppose that one verification and then transfering a few serials in the bank is still faster than having to investigate someone for every single purchase ? i don't really know how their system works :)

Has anyone actually gotten through and done a private sale? I have tried for 2 weeks to just START a transfer and gotten no where. So I assume private sales are basically a no go since there is so many retail sales. Who has successfully called in and done a transfer privately. I assume it will be 6-8 weeks before there is even a chance to get in.

on the main page, there are a few posts about it...not easy but they are definitely happening...

Can a buyer complete the transfer process (if given a transfer reference number from the seller) by using the online web services of the RCMP?

Yalbir, posted this in another thread so please excuse the repetition. I got through Friday on a private transfer using 1-6-1. I tried for 9 business days to get through until I tried that extension on Friday. I asked a general question on transfers then mentioned that I had one. 1st time I called was only a few min on hold before they picked up but the woman was not trained and could no help. Called back moments later and picked French (they all speak English as well) and the lady helped me. Even let me patch the other party onto the call to complete the initial notification. Hope to hear from CFO soon but not holding breath.

I made a post in the the pistol forum , but just to let you guys know I just got through in under 45 minutes. I used the 1800 731-4000 and then used the 1......, 6, 1, method thanks to those who posted it. first two operators I got were not transfer trained but the the 3rd one was . I was cut off a handful of times and every time I was sent to the proper route the call just ended. But in the end it only took about 10-15 calls and under 45 minutes for my part. Hopefully the buyer has good luck as well.

No those are reserved for licensed businesses, private transfers you have to call or by mail but mail requires both the buyer and the seller to sign the same form so

SFRC thanks. I’m hoping my X95 gets shipped soon, transfer was approved on the 3rd. I need to enjoy it before they change the laws again.

Why would this have to be approved? I believe X95 is non-restricted.
More likely SFRC is just backed up handling all the handgun transfers.

Alberta

Ordered from Ontario June 1, transfer approved June 8
Ordered from Alberta June 3, transfer approved June 13
Both being delivered.

I’m also from Alberta, my transfer got approved June 3 but mine isn’t being shipped yet as of this writing. Lucky you …

My first order that was approved June 8th, I called the shop and they said they didn’t receive the transfer notification. I replied to the CFO’s approved transfer email and the following day the CFO emailed the shop their transfer notification. It was shipped the following day. For some reason, the CFO didn’t email the seller transfer notification. It actually happened twice. My second order, I emailed the shop and they didn’t receive it as well, I had to email the shop my transfer notification and it was shipped.

This my experience with my transfers.

I think, I should do that, thanks for the heads up. I already sent them messages, made them aware of approval of transfer and they were diligently replying to it but I didn’t see my order move since then. Last message received was on the 9th.
