Waiting on a Holusun red dot (HE403GL - green) and looking at pairing it with a magnifier. Once again, as with my red dot selection, I'm down to Vortex and Holosun as viable options.

Would appreciate any input on your experience or opinion regarding the Vortex VMX-3T or the Holosun HM3X. I'm leaning more towards the Holosun because of the better eye relief.

Although obviously more expensive, I'll also throw in there the newer and smaller Vortex Micro3X.

Hi mildot, wondering if you ever got the HM3XT and if you have any thoughts about it?

I see that it's for sale @ Brownells, however my POC in Canada, hasn't contacted me? I'm still waiting on the AEMS with the green reticle as well. I like the "shorter" length of the Ti for PDW platforms etc. I think that both versions are probably equal in glass quality for a magnifier, but the Ti is shorter and lighter? YMMV.

SRS Tactical in Calgary got them in recently too, must’ve been really recent as when I was looking at various vendors a couple months ago they weren’t around, so I settled for the HM3X at the time. Debating to pick up a HM3XT and see which one I like more or if the length will affect eye relief much.

The Green AEMS would be nice, but so far I’m OK with red. I also saw there’s a new “AEMS Core” without the lens covers, also appears to have no solar panel, and the dot reticle only.

Holmes, I took delivery of the Ti Magnifier & the AEMS with the GR reticle. Overall fit & finish is great, the large window on the AEMS is nice along with the Gr reticle. The magnifier I found a bit heavy? but clear and with excellent diopter adjustment for my eyes ( I have astigmatism). Overall quite pleased and worth the wait.

I use the the "circle dot" on the AEMS and I found picking that up was quite easy and natural, especially in a PDW environment. I'll use the magnifier to push out the 300blk to a 100 if necessary? But the set up right now is working. The magnifier small size makes it great and almost not noticeable.

Thanks for providing your feedback on the setup so far, I’m newer to this, so my take in one of the other threads is based on limited exposure with comparable products. Im not not sure how the titanium magnifier weighs compared to other brands (eotech, vortex, etc.), but on paper I recall it was a bit less than the aluminum one (can’t say i “felt” much difference when using though. I do find the (red) AEMS to work well (I also have mild astigmatism), and when paired with the magnifier and properly dialled in, I don’t have issues.

Sure, good point on the weight? Without putting it on a "scale" it "feels" heavier than the Aimpoint & Eotech. However I was really after the shorter length.
