Been watching all of the out of control frantic buying of handguns....

Wondering if the Can Govt has control of what is really the goal here....and I believe they actually do...

Seems pretty obvious that gun owners are the most scared faction of Canadians.....

Truly, what is the point of paying exorbitant prices if indeed these handguns become prohibited....?

HUH...??

Investment? No.

Self fulfillment? Perhaps - you get to play with them....then they become paperweights...

Letting the Can Govt know where they all are for future confiscation? For Sure...no question about that...

Think it through...

there are a few things at play here:

1. They HAD to use the tragedy in the US to push their agenda. They could not let this go to waste as there may not be another chance when the time is better.

2. They did not want to use an OIC since last time they got a black eye, so they have not much choice as to push regulation through, which is also just as easy

3. They dont want to deal with dealers about paying for their inventory so its convenient if all those guns are sold

4. This is not about public safety but virtue signalling and they achieved what they wanted

5. They need room for more bans down the road. The next steps will be (they will be saved for elections):

- ban use and transport of hand guns

- confiscation of hand guns

So before anybody buys a lot of expensive hand guns now, re read point 5

Since an ATT right now is valid for 2 things, once the bill is passed, your ATT will only be valid for 1 thing.

Simple enough to cut you off at the knees.

Pointless fortune telling.

Maybe Trudeau moves to ban handguns before he gets booted out of office, or maybe he doesn't and the next PM diverts their attention to things that actually matter, if not rescinding the ban outright.

Trudeau has turned the country into an absolute dumpster fire. You can quote the idiotic Angus poll until you're blue in the face about how 70% of the country wants to ban handguns... the reality is that politics don't operate on the results of a single variable poll, and the majority of people in this country want him to fixing real issues, not wasting time and treasure on gun control.

Just as a case study: the 1986 machine gun ban was hardly the end of full auto ownership in the US. Peanut gallery comments about how foolish people were for registering lengths of pipe and pieces of sheet metal as Sten guns or MACs? Anyone?

The more time Trudeau spends on gun control, the worse the next election will be for him as inflation soars.

...what is the point of paying exorbitant prices if indeed these handguns become prohibited?

What is your arguement? That people who don't wish to be left empty-handed should just throw up their hands and accept the inevitable? That the money being used to buy hard physical goods (like handguns, magazines, spare parts, etc.) would be better spent on something like a new 'smart' TV, restaurant dining, or vacation travel?

As was written before , if all these hang guns are bought & registered
what happen to they when the CFP /Govt. wants to confiscate them ?

Didn't this happen when AR type rifles were going to be prohibited
now they can't be sold or used .
The CFP knows where they are .

What is the plan ? Could some one clue me in .,.. skwerl

I believe everyone knows the risks, but would rather have the guns they want for the rest of their lives than own nothing. Everyone’s situation is different … some older people are passing their guns on to their children. If the liberals thought they could afford confiscation, they would have done that. Remember, they didn’t actually want to buyback AR’s and were going to allow grandfathering, but were pushed by the NDP and Bloc to not to allow people to own them. They don’t want to pay for handguns.

The future is unwritten … make the best choice for you.

One minute is gun owners are too passive... the next it's you are buying too many guns because the govt wants to ban them....

I for one am proud of my fellow canadians because the majority I have talked to are doing it because they want one and want to give an FU to the Trudeau liberals...

Fear would be NOT putting any money in the game and being afraid to do so just because Justin thinks he knows better imo

Possible reason for panic buying HGs? For me, it’s a form of resistance. We all struggle with wanting to obey all the laws of the land but when the lines that separate legal from illegal are constantly redrawn to our detriment at some stage even the most milquetoast will stiffen their resolve and push back. This resistance can take many forms: panic buying guns is just one of them.

Zoolander just wanted to Virtue Signal without thinking of any consequence. He has a history of this.

In regards to purchasing handguns now . I have a couple of off the top of my head thoughts .

How many things have you purchased in your life that you have nothing to show for , maybe just memories but you paid for them
How about social alcohol drinkers where’s is that now . Up against a wall or down the toilet
How about vacations , memories and pictures
Handgun purchase that you might have to surrender one day HOPE NOT ! But you paid for fun and memories !

In the meantime I will try and help any organization and politicians that want to defeat or reverse these non sensical firearm laws !

What about all us 12.2 , 12.3, 12.4, 12.5, 12.6 owners. We have still been buying for decades. Knowing one day they will all be gone

You don't get and don't have any handguns I would think.
I had a fellow , middle aged , thinking about a handgun for years, he figured it is now or never, Maybe? who knows down the road, maybe the voters will smarten up. Laugh2
But he will have a chance to own one , if the paper work ever gets done.
He paid too much, that is not the point.
He bought at auction, thou I did find him one local, but too late.

I was around in the 1990.s when lots where running scared, and dumping their short barrels, 25, 32 handguns , for next to nothing , than all bent when they found out that they could keep then, To late than.
Scared that they may loss some money.

I think 95% of the buyers last couple of weeks are people like the above , new owners . And they know the risks
Stock market is a risk.

I did it to send a message, that essentially many of us do not consider handguns, and guns in general, to be a part of an obsolete society. I imagine gov and many other Canadians were shocked at the sales volume. the idea that many don't want to just let that part of our heritage (firearms in general) just die off. I did have a funny conversation recently though with a fellow I know from work. We talked about the freeze. He is a VERY liberal fella by admission. He agreed with the ban. When I informed him it wasn't a ban, I would continue to use and own mine, but you will never get to own and shoot one yourself. Well, you wouldn't believe how fast he became interested in possibly owning one himself, taking the courses. By the time we finish talking he was downright P'd that HE was about to be restricted from making a purchase HE wanted lol...
