Frantic Handgun Buying - Govt influence...?? Huh..??

I did it to send a message, that essentially many of us do not consider handguns, and guns in general, to be a part of an obsolete society. I imagine gov and many other Canadians were shocked at the sales volume. the idea that many don't want to just let that part of our heritage (firearms in general) just die off. I did have a funny conversation recently though with a fellow I know from work. We talked about the freeze. He is a VERY liberal fella by admission. He agreed with the ban. When I informed him it wasn't a ban, I would continue to use and own mine, but you will never get to own and shoot one yourself. Well, you wouldn't believe how fast he became interested in possibly owning one himself, taking the courses. By the time we finish talking he was downright P'd that HE was about to be restricted from making a purchase HE wanted lol...

My liberal friend just bought his first handgun. He had an RPAL for years … most people are complacent and expect a gun to cost like $100, so they always put off to tomorrow any purchases they could make today. I told him this is your last chance and he bought a handgun an hour later. Then I told him most of his liberal friends now consider him to be kind of a criminal now.

Im pretty new to the firearms world myself, a little later in life to be honest, and never really wanted a handgun. I was really interested in rifles and the math/physics behind long range shooting. so went for my PAL. Everyone said get your restricted cuz you'll regret it later down the road if you don't. So I did. On my first purchase I bought a simple Polymer handgun. Wow, did I fall in love. I had no idea how challenging it was, how it wasn't like I always thought the experience would be like. I got hooked. Im no good at it at all, but for me, the challenge has grown the interest. I hope your friend finds great joy in pistol shooting!
