Can anyone tell me why an Aimpoint pro is for sale south of the border for $445 USD/ $578 CAD (not including regular sales below $400) and it’s $799 at every retailer in Canada? I understand the companies need their cut but that is robbery. I just don’t think a good long-term strategy to get more people into the shooting sports is to scare them away with outrageous prices

Simply put different price structure and $578CDN only calculates exchange rate not shipping/brokerage fees at the border, being in the firearms industry isn’t a cheap venture that includes both the distributors - retailers and buyers. Let me be clear shipping alone has exploded in the last two years if you don’t believe me calculate the rate to ship a package from the US into Canada by UPS? I just had my custom axe shipped to me today which cost $125US because that’s the only shipping option I have and that same package in the US is $44US overnight in the US - simply put all prices are increasing as is supply and demand.

Plus the most important thing you are under no obligation to buy any product - buyers choice

I guess I’m salty because it seems item specific. But I’ll admit I don’t know the in’s and out’s of the industry.

It is painful because I am physically 30 mins from the border and would love to just got pick it up but, you know… prison.

I hear you but it’s just a simple numbers game - it kills me when a Canadian made product is cheaper in the US than in Canada !!
