Have 1 round of Imperial AAA, I'm guessing this would thump a coyote, what did guys use if for?

#4 buck is my preferred choice for coyote

Dont qoute me but if memory serves,A was 0 buck,AA was 00 buck and AAA was 4 buck. Your correct about rolling yotes with 4 buck too! I believe some of the point men in Nam ran 4 buck in the scatter guns.

I wasn't sure where aaa was on the size scale but as posted above as similar to #4 buck. I went by that. Either way #4 buck has the pattern density and punch to really drop coyotes. I've used #6 bird shot #4 birdshot #2 lead and BB and BBB as well as #4 buck and 00buck. All have worked but #4 buck was by far the most effective. 00buck kills well but stretching distances past 30 yards the extra pellet count of #4 buck really helps
I'll be using #2 and #3 buck in 20ga this year for coyotes

When we ran coyotes with hounds over 40 years ago we found the 00 would thin out at distance and had a lot of broken legs. A big eastern yote with a broken leg can work a Walker over pretty good. Dad finally bought a big Plott female and the wins went to her after that. AAA was the sweet load for the song dogs.

Agree. I love 4 buck for coyotes in the 10ga. Use it when I hate them and just about cut them in half :)
