I just bought a Canik tp9sfx and waiting for approval. In the mean time I am looking at a canik rival and was hoping to here what you have bought and your pros and cons before i buy anymore caniks. I've heard nothing but good news from local. Thanks in advance!!
 
I have an elite. Bought it used. Very good trigger for the $500 I paid. Most accurate 9mm I've owned. No complaints here, other than ammo prices and availability as of late...

reviews on YouTube on that Dark Side model (I think Tactical Considerations did a good one) made me want to buy one. Triggers are supposed to be as good as it gets and the price point and extras they give are a pretty good arm twister.

Yeah guys at my range have had them for a while and had 0 complaints but the internet says different sometimes... the guys here said the same about accuracy.

Yeah watched that one and that's the one I was looking at.
 
I have both the rival and an elite combat executive and they are both fantastic guns out of the box. Range officer tried it and claimed my rival had one of the best triggers he's ever shot

Hearing this makes me happy. Been looking at the rival really hard last week.
 
Bought one of the Canik Rivals. Still waiting for approval of the transfer ... since 31 May or so. :(

Definitely like the look. I'm itching to hold it and take it to the range. Here's a generic picture:

I think they are a good value , I have not handled the newer elite model, but the older ones seem vg, I have sold a couple and no problems, I shot one for a while with a vortex red dot on it
only complaint would be the screws they use to mount the plate and sights. awful small. and would be nice if you could retain the rear sight with the red dot
 
They are really nice pistols, my buddy just picked up a Rival Dark Side and it is pretty damn sweet. It’s his 4th Canik and all have been awesome firearms. I just bought his Elite Combat from him,I will run it in an IDPA match this Saturday and have a much better idea of how it functions, but so far I’m loving the trigger. Of course, I am a Glock guy so any nice trigger impresses me lol :)
 
I have a couple. Great triggers and excellent shooters. I have 20+ 9mms, and would rank these about the best of the bunch.

Super support from Century Arms in Montreal, the importer/distributor. I had to contact them for some sight screws I had lost.

Same reason I bought the Mete ... just got it the other day and the comments about the superb trigger is 100% true. You won't regret buying your Canik. The only issue I can see is additional mags. They're hard to come by and would cost $50 a piece. Sig P226 mags would work with it but the costs would even be worst. Probably the Norinco 226 clone mags would work juts the same if only I could find them too.
 
I have a Rival in transit. I decided to downsize when the Turd made his announcement. Sold a TP9SA and a M&P9, week later had a CZ and the Rival on the CC. CZ is in my hands, Rival hopefully tomorrow. The Gun Dealer in NB was excellent to deal with. (The TP9SA was superior to my M&P 9 Ver. 1.0)

Good to know about Sig P226 mags working with the Canik. I have lots of P226 mags.
