? on removing the barrel off a french 1892 revolver

Can anyone tell me what is the best way to remove the barrel off a French 1892 service revolver without damaging it ? and is the thread clockwise or counterclockwise ?

Can anyone please help ?

"...French 1892 service revolver..." Which one? Removing any barrel from anything requires the proper tools, just like any other firearm. Use anything else and you'll twist the frame into an interesting paperweight.

probabley the model 1892 odannance revolver in 8mm?

lead to hold the barrel in a vice and a mandrel that fits the frame. Don't know about the thread direction on em check the french guns section on "gunsworld". There is a link there to some french shops that sell/work on revolvers.

No I am not lining the Barrel, I bought a post 1898 revolver for parts, and having it registered to my friend (since I am not licence for restricted) and as soon he receive it we will remove all removable parts and he will keep the receiver, and I will keep the parts because I bought a nice pre 1898 one, but there is some mechanical problems and a patch of pitting on the left side of the receiver
( mechanism cover plate) and the grips are bad . So I will use the parts from the other one to put the antique one back in shape . keep some parts and sell those I dont need.

I imported and owned four of those, and sold them every time, even bought back one I had sold and had to sell it again (needed $$). Altought I never had a chance to shoot any of them, I missed them too. They are really nice, and extremely well made revolvers.
