BC LEH results are out!

No draw for me but some friends got a shared hunt moose draw in 7-29. Group of 4 but only allowed 1 moose. Has anyone heard of this? Typically shared hunts group of 1-2 can harvest 1 Bull and group of 3-4 can harvest 2.

Thoughts??

If you get drawn with a group of 3-4 and there is only 1 moose left in the regional allotment then you only get an authorization for a single moose.

In other words you guys got the very last tag for that region and they don't give out extras just because you're a group of 3-4.

2016 was the last time I had a draw. Depending how expensive things are I might just go bag something on the reserve for the first time ever.

i know it is high population compared to yukon but do you have any species otc tags aside wolf and cougar?

If I'm understanding the question right..... yes we have over the counter tags for whitetail deer, mule deer(includes blacktail and sitka) ,moose, elk, blackbear, sheep and goat and I think caribou as well. Finding an open season is the challenge for some.
if you google BC hunting regulations you can peruse through that for a page that lists all the species , tag fees ect. The 9 management units in BC all have different rules, regulations and open seasons.

no , not the end of hunting per say but the changes coming for resident hunters when this years regulations come out is gonna be a shocker for many.
Lots of general open seasons for moose are now under the LEH lottery only. There will remain spike fork (2pt) only seasons in many areas but bull moose hunting in general is going to take a big hit as far as resident hunter general open season opportunities. The northeastern corner of the province , which is rich hunting lands, has the most changes and folks are gonna be pissed to say the least when they see the changes to the hunting opportunities in "their" backyards.
