Any experience with it up on this side of the border? Would love to see or hear some kind of comparison with something like the Walther PDP or CZ P10 OR. Personally, I really dig the look of this Springfield but never shot any of their guns before. I really didn't like the feel of the Walther PDP grip, and it's just super square and chonky looking up top. Sold to a friend, so I can still shoot it sometimes :p

I'm not a fan of the standard P320 grip modules but the X VTAC model got me feeling perky this morning. The sights are really cool. Although co-witness with a set of 3 fibre optic sights designed to cover the target (combat style) seems like it would be distracting?

And YouTube reviewers seem to be giving the new Canik Rival guns some very high praise. Fellow CGN'r said he put all his other guns away once he got one. They're a bit over-the-top looking but if the results are there...

Soooo anyone got their hands on the Springfield XDM Elite OSP, Canik Rival, or P320 X VTAC?

No opinion re: xdm or canik.

Sig is okay.
This new slide cut is good: cowitness irons with red dot out of the box.
VTac sights meh: prefer blacked out rear. Might be a habit carryover from Shadow 2. Sig XRay tritiums are good.
If you are thinking of getting a red dot, the Xfull RXP LE model is a better package: XRay sights, Romeo 1pro with steel shroud, long dust cover rail (neutral on that one). Civilian Xfull RXP doesn’t come with red dot shroud ($50 part), other than that, very similar.

If you are planning to reload for it, get a Grayguns fat recoil rod kit from Nordic Marksman. Non-Legion P320 come with a captive recoil spring assembly optimized for punchy LE/mil ammo. GG rod comes with 15lbs spring, and you can use 1911 springs to tune it further. Same could be achieved with a large nail and 20 min with dremel, but the GG part just looks nicer. Also consider the GG trigger kit (full kit with sear, springs, etc).

Mine is just sitting in the safe, waiting for the brown envelope from Miramichi.

Canik all the way!

Yeah I decided to go with the Canik to try something new, since everyone seems to be screaming high praise for them. I admit I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to "value" options and companies that throw a lot of extras at something for what I perceive to be to get attention, but with the amount of praise they're getting - it seems like the company actually cares about gaining and retaining loyal customers. I still think it looks a bit over-the-top in the tacticool category LOL. But the price is great and I do want to get into IDPA and steel challenge.

Got my SIG fix on a 226 Legion and M11-A1 so I'll stick with the metal guns for them.

I did check out the Springfield at a local shop and it seemed pretty sweet too, but too many 9mms on the way now. If stores bring in the 10 mm OSP Elite - that would be a really cool one to squirrel away if I can ever afford to load up on ammo for it LOL.

I have an XDM 5.5

I love it. Upgrade it with a good trigger kit and heavier guide rod. Became the best shooting gun ive ever tried. Highly recommended.

Digging the Canada flag on it and that it says it's from Century Arms Canada, rather than Turkey. Not that it matters, but interesting nonetheless. None of the photos at any retailers show these details.

Gun is super nice. Everything is nice and tight, balance is nice, grip is nice, sights are fantastic, trigger is absolutely the best out there - hands down twice as nice as the Walther PDP, and the finish is beautiful all around. It definitely looks and feels like a gun that could easily sell for well over a grand without all the extras they pack in the box. The only thing that sucks is the holster, which is loose as a goose that was _____ by a moose, but it's included and works as needed.

Can't wait to get it out pounding some steel spinners. Wish I'd bought the grey one as well.
