Transfer times in Alberta

When I called yesterday the lady basically said calling in isn’t going to speed anything up. She verified all my transfers were pending approval and checked they had all my info correct while I was on the call. She said transfers are averaging 4-6 weeks. She also said people who haven’t had restricted firearms before are typically the ones waiting the 6 weeks+.

Good to know thanks for sharing that!
I already own one handgun and have bought 3 more, it’s been around 5/6 weeks now so fingers crossed.

I bought a handgun from Tenda June 1st, got my reference number June 15th and my transfer was just approved on Friday July 15th. This isn't my first handgun either. I also bought a handgun from Cabelas on June 3rd. See if I get that transfer early next week.

I've also bought 5 or so since June 12th and haven't had any approvals yet. Called and verified that the info was all correct and that they are all sitting in limbo at CFO for Alberta waiting for final approval. I read somewhere on here that Alberta was adding more CFOs to get as many through as possible before the freeze. Not sure if it's true but here's to hoping. And here's to hoping that my approvals start to trickle in in the next few days. Anyone know if the long term ATT is still attached to your valid PaAL in Alberta? I know it was when I called CFP at the end of April but I haven't heard since T's announcement?

Just got transfer approvals for 3 hand guns I purchased on June 22nd, and June 24th. The one on the 22nd was a personal purchase and the other two were dealership purchases. I contacted the dealer and they had also got the paperwork (in Saskatchewan) and we’re already creating shipping labels when I called. I’ve already received ship notifications for 2/3 that got approved today. 2 more to go!!!

Took the day off work to call into the Alberta CFO. Was on hold 4 different times, each call ending with the system disconnecting me at the 18 minute mark which seems very sketchy. The automated messages was stating hardware or connection Issues. Great fun! Not too mention the dealers have been calling me registering concern for the delay and asking me to keep calling into the CFO. I gather the system is in total chaos if the dealers are freaking. Not even sure what to do at this point. I am at the 4-6 week mark in delays. Thank you JT ! You suck in so many ways.

He can suck on my spouses brand new HG, transfer approved yeehaw!

I called a couple of days ago and after a 40 minute wait, they approved 2 of my 5 transfers (June 4, and June 15) and told me the rest would have to wait.

I'm still waiting for mine from June the 3rd. I've tried the Alberta CFO extension a lot but have always gotten the we're busy call again later message. I've called as early as 9 and have noticed that if I call again later like as early as 3:30pm have gotten the we are closed for the day message. You people who are getting through, has there been a particular time you've gotten through or is it all random?

the wait time has shot up dramatically.
my first 2 were short (4 days and 8 days) but I purchased one pretty much a month ago now and have yet to get any movement on it. (June 28 to today July 25 and still waiting so that is 20 days and counting)
called the gun store today and they said they are seeing 4-6-8 week transfer times now out of Alberta CFO.

id imagine much like every other place of work half the staff bugger off during July and Aug for vacation.

Called yesterday with my 3 transfer numbers(5 guns) they weren't yet approved but she did them all while on the phone. Makes me think they don't have any sort of order system from when the buying spree started if guys can call and get them in a week or 5 weeks.
