Fast AK mag changes

silly Q part 2
now that I think about it why are they having to slide the action with thier clip hand.
If they were changing mags " hot " ie one in the tube then you dont have to touch the action
and
auto's I shoot or have shot, when the clip is dry . the action stays open.
slide in a mag and release the action with the button.
Am i missing somthing here ????
Yes, you seem to be missing everything. None of those magazine changes involved clips. None of those magagazine changes were "hot" changes. Also, the AK doesn't have a bolt hold open, so you can't just release the bolt with this mystery button, not to mention the bolt won't be held back.

clip ... mag ... its irrelivant. and if you re-read i did use the word mag.
I have never shot an AK or any variant of, and did not know they were void of a bolt catch .
thanks for answering my Q

The term is very relevant. If you wish to be taken as a someone who is serious about the shooting sports, or have any of your opinions taken seriously. I strongly recommend less TV and action movies and more technical manuals.

Armedsask pointed out the obvious. The not so obvious would be the advantage of cycling the action regardless of condition. The potential of losing one round for the added security of ensuring your rifle is indeed loaded is a small price to pay. This type of thinking/acting doesn't really matter for civilian or action shooters. It does make a difference for those who's life depends on their kit and training.

Correct, standard operating procedure is to cycle the action. Maybe you lost count and you don't have a hot chamber. Last thing you want is that firearm going click when you are expecting it to go boom.

1 - enough with the bull#### talk. quit trying to act like you know more than others. I simply asked a question and instead you have to be smart ass's.
2 - im not on the internet to show how much I know or to be talked down to, please show some respect and not trivialize over such a small thing as me typing mag once and clip twice.
3 - I have had my share of ' action ' and if you watch the video in question he checked to see where his action was so there would be no need to cycle if it had a bolt catch like i originally thought.
4 - im a fellow canadian with a background in the military and an interest in firearms, if we argue with eachother instead of talking about a subject were doomed.

OK, everyone settle down. It was a fair question by 4 x 4, lets try to be civil. No need to gang up, answer the question, try to help other understand, then move on.....we are talking about AK mag changes.

4 x 4 - No need to go over the top on the reply...terminology is important as well. Take your lumps and move on...

Armed - Point made, lets drop it and focus on the discussions....

Let me tell you how I change mags on an AK...I release the mag and either let it drop or drop in someplace, then I usually fumble around for a mag from my armour, and load the mag....being a lefty, I cycle the action with my right hand and go on.....

Now ask me how quick I can change the battery in my laptop while in Iraq, that is impressive.... :D

Cheers

Love the middle video. He's advertising some tactical grip, has a rock soundtrack going, and is doing 'tactical' mag changes next to his bed.

It seems incomprehensible to me (but I guess it's a sign of the destruction of our society by Lieberal F#&* heads) that someone would not have had the opportunity to become familiar with the most common military rifle in the world. I was lucky enough to be shooting before the insanity took over and was able to own 2 AK's with full capacity mags. That was long before 'Tacticool' became king and they were just cheap(ish) rifles.

Thanks for lightening that up.

As a lefty myself I often feel bad for right handers that charging handles are on the wrong side for them.LOL.

I certainly never intended to piss you off. With so many anti gun types in society today the use of slang and inappropriate terms will damage the shooting community. By correcting this poor choice of words amongst ourselves as well as the general public will show that we as shooters are intelligent about our sport and the problems that come with it.

We don't need to feed the fire with more slang or buzz words that only get whipped into sesationalist stories of cr@p in the media.

4X4,
I hope you wife gets better soon for both your health and hers. ;)
