What optics are you running on your higher end black rifles?

I'm trying to narrow down optic choices for my incoming Bren 2 and would like to get something that suits the rifle.

I run an affordable Strike Eagle 1-6x on my MCR and was initially planning to run a Strike Eagle 1-8x on the Bren 2 but am open to other options.

I'm considering stepping up to a Viper or Razor 1-6x if they're worth the price bump or going with another setup altogether like a red dot and magnifier.

What do you run on your pricier black rifles?
 
depends on the purpose of the rifle.

I have a Mepro M5 and magnifier on one, and iron sights on another.

I suppose the general rule would be buy the best you can afford, and don't overspend on the rifle with the intention of putting a replica optic on it.
 
I've got a thing for primary arms LPVOs. If I were to upgrade any, I'd go with a Spectre but not so long as they live in my safe.

Different niche for each I guess. I'd probably put the Aimpoint or the Eotech on the Bren if I were planning on buying one.
 
Situation and use dictate the use of different optics.

IE: I use a simple red dot on my 9mm pcc VS LPVO on my 556.
 
Vortex Razor HD 1-4X24 on my ACR
Eotech 553 SU231 on my M4A1

Could never get into LPVO's on my semi-auto stuff, so for me it's a red dot and magnifier combo, or fixed magnification with an offset 1x solution.
 
I tend to test the rifle for accuracy with known loads I have (or FGMM) and if it shoots <2moa then it gets an LPVO, otherwise, it gets a quality red dot (generally Aimpoint micro of some sort). If we're talking about NR rifles, they already aren't super handy with an 18.6" barrel so to me the increased capabilities of the LPVO just make sense. I've run the Bushnell Elite 1-8.5 SMRS for years and it's been great, I've used it from point blank out to 640 yards with success (on a .223 gas gun) but I just recently started using a Vortex Razor gen 3 1-10 and it's really a fantastic optic. The glass is waaaay more clear than the Bushnell and I prefer the daylight bright dot at 1x to the Bushy's horseshoe. On an accurate (<2moa) .223 gas gun, a good 1-8 or 10x LPVO really makes it a legit 5-600 yard gun (with 75-77gr ammo) and still very quick up close, although I've come to like additionally running an aimpoint micro offset at 45 degrees for the closer stuff.
 
I STILL prefer my EoTech Donut of Death over all other RDS. I just find it so user friendly when running at CQB stage.

I love my Trijicon Accupoints if I'm running LPVO and won't run any others... Glass is amazing.
 
Match the optic to your eyes, wallet experience and what you want to do with it.
CQB doorkicking, mid range 50-400m or longer?
Figure 11 size targets, gopher silhouettes or teeny tiny bulls?

I like the 3-4 power fixed power types, only because vision problems rule out the pricey Elcans and ACOGs.
 
Holosun red dot and Vortex Micro3X magnifier. Great combo. Circle-Dot reticle of an EOtech, with the battery life of an aimpoint. If I want to save weight and bulk I can just pull the magnification off.
