looking at putting a scope on a win model 100. anybody running one ,what are you using?would like to keep the scope on the smaller side to go with the size of the rifle. it is a 308 . any thoughts . thanks lbo
I don't think a Leupold 1.5-5 is ever a bad choice for a smaller handy rifle like the M-100.
A 40-60 year old weaver is probably due for maintenance at some point too. I have a small collection of old weavers made from the 1940s to about 1980. The majority of them benefitted greatly from being serviced, cleaned, and recharged with N2 and then they should be good for another lifetime. Average cost for that ran $100-$150 per scope.Unless you are buying upper-end Vortex, avoid them.
They have a good warranty, but on their lower end to
mid-grade stuff, you will be using that warranty too
frequently.
I think an older steel tube Weaver 4x would be perfect
on that Winchester, OP. Dave.
