Its .223 not .308 ,tuning the gas (if possible) will do much more with none of the negatives of a comp
Be a man and 3prong it, slapped a KNS on my Valmet and it has done much more to control felt recoil, muzzle climb than my AK74m (style) comp ever could ( all while not backblasting everyone around me and having the rilfe drop brass 5' away vs spitting it over 30'
Lantac dragon is too much $$ for what it does. It works but is loud.
I've got one on my 16".
I use the VG epsilon or Gamma. They're not as loud but are cheaper and I found a little bit more effective in keeping the barrel on point vs dragon. I have 3 of those on my other prohibited rifles.
I think that is your best option for $$ and muzzle climb.
Anything else is crap.
Good luck.

I always seem to get the guy with a muzzle brake sitting down at the bench next to me...such fun. I have two rifles chambered in .223 and never felt the want or need to screw on a brake.
I just tested my Precision Armament Hypertap on my 458 Socom, what a huge difference, the other brake I had on there was not even close to what this brake was able to do
