B78 stock

I recently bought an octagon barrel 30/06 with Monte Carlo stock. I’m wondering if the 45/70 style stock would bolt right on as I like it much better, if I can find one… VS

If they are both B78's there should be no issues.

I did exactly this on my B78 many years ago , only in reverse . I put a monte carlo stock on a 45/70 chambered , straight gripped B78 . If I remember correctly ( it was 30+ years ago ) I used a shorter bolt on the monte carlo stock . Not a big deal , other than that , it bolted straight on .
