Another barrel swap question

The barrel shanks are nominally the same. Bolt nose to breech face gap, headspacing and indexing of sights, if any, will have to be checked and adjusted as necessary. With the necessary tools its not a difficult job.
 
Thanks for the help, now I know its an option. Of course everything will probably have to be adjusted but as long as the barrel will screw on, it should all be pretty straight forward.

If adjustment is needed, a lathe will likely be required, in addition to headspace gauges and probably a reamer. I have swapped a number of Remington barrels, and have had only one torque in with correct headspace, and I've never had one index, if sights were involved.

If I do it I'll probably get a gunsmith to do it, I have access to a lathe but the tooling will cost more than the job it I get it done professionally. No iron sights but I always like the barrel stamping to line up in roughly the same spot.
