You got something against Saxon, Protestants boy?

Nothing at all. Just the #### head ones that i see at every single club ive shot at that drive away new shooters (and seasoned shooters) with their over bearing 'god complex' attitudes. Sonetimes it is over a minor/major safety mistep. Often, its self promoting, long winded self important grand standing that turns everyone off.

What does religion has to do with it?

WASP is a term to describe the grumpy old gaurd in society. White Anglo Saxon Protestant is just the wheel barrow that the grumpy old gaurd gets painted as . Its been a common name for decades. Basically same as calling a group of girls 'basic chics' or native americans 'indians'....
I agree, the old gaurd paved the way for clubs and shooting sports, but, there are a very obnoxious 5% that are undoing what THEIR predecesors struggled to build. Every club has them. Im not going to backtrack on my statement. SOME of the old gaurd is wrecking the future of our sport.... anyone that cant see it is willfully blind.

There is no such thing as even a minor safety mishap at a gun club not being addressed let alone a major one and can understand now why they don't want you there. Not them the #### head

Well it can't be too popular, as nobody had an idea what it meant.

Alot of other people are ruining the future of the sport. By being unsafe and getting ranges closed down. I bet you that majority of the safety issues and unsafe people are not these wasp term you keep on saying that are the issue. As many dont think rules applies to them, they dont need to talk to the older gen as they got youtube.

The radical crazy wannabe American. 2A III% dont help public opinion on our sport.

I'm fed up of seeing this stupid post. Can it be deleted please, the op wishing a generation to die, is a more ignorant point of view than what he's complaining about

Cuz i dont want to get banned. How's that? You do you, being the guy chasing new members away from the shooting sports and I'll be me.

If you don't want to be banned. Then you should watch what you say before posting.

I've been members of many clubs, they all been mixed between younger and older in the exc. What boots out most new members is their know all attitude and thinking they're better, or rules don't apply to them. Or treating the club like their own personal junk range and leaving their un authorized targets for others to clean up. Then get defensive when challenged.

You know, the one thing that torques me the most is that so many (yes, younger than retirees) leave their used targets hanging and walk away. I clean up and leave it better than I found it but I wish everyone would.

Most of the times, the pile of targets are the only backing left, or keeping the stands intact. As people with shotguns got the backing and targets destroyed.

That reminds me of what I gotta propose at the next meeting. Wider and taller shotgun only targets. As shooting a target stand at 25m with a shotgun that patterns 24", just un necessary damages the up rights and backing. Leaving nobody able to use them.

I started to crack down on the shell cases. I left a magnet and there is zero excuse to pick up steel cases. It's getting much better, but still a few people that leaves dozen or more lying around.

I'm almost 40 and during the range cleanup, dont like 2 hours of walking up and down cleaning up brass.

But many blame fudds, but at the range cleanups or work parties, its normally the same group of older people. We did have couple not even full members help on the last.

To the younger people, goto work parties, goto club meetings. Get involved. As the older people are hardly the problem.

.

Yeah, my range has a slugs only rule for that very reason.

Thankfully my club is fairly small and the regulars are all good folks and help one another out. Much of it I think depends on the nature of the club. In a club where people generally come and greet one another and chat, I think you'd have less problems because everyone knows one another. I have heard of many clubs where people show up, don't say boo to other range members, shoot and leave. The social disconnect may contribute to a expectations disconnect. I know some of the larger clubs have more issues by virtue of bigger numbers and anytime you have more people, you are going to likely have more problems.

I also do think to a degree, it is a respect thing and many people nowadays don't seem to have the mutual respect for others (not just in this area but others) to see beyond themselves and have the humility to be able to accept feedback and even criticism. I agree that how feedback and criticism is given is important, but at the same time, I think the social climate seems to favour a more "me first" mentality, which permeates through all facets of social interactions including at the range.

Spent most of the day shooting trap. We had a great time referencing this thread, chasing away young shooters and just generally being racist redneck old farts. Can't wait for next weekend.

LOL... love it!! On a non-sarcastic note, I belong to two clubs, in both cases mutual respect is key. The "red neck old farts" are always willing to help a new guy, they have a mountain of experience and I always like to run things by them, they are more than willing to share their experience. It is ALWAYS a matter of mutual respect no matter how old you are and the color of your "neck"!

The fact that the OP used language such as "red neck" shows that there are underlying issues he needs to deal with. I'm a younger white male and shoot with an older gentleman of Asian descent, a young black man in his twenties and a bunch of white men older and younger. Age and race are never an issue. Mutual respect is key, you will make a lot of friends, regardless of age, race or color of their neck!

Yup us too.
To see impatient faces, and condescension on the line after taking too long to fill the trap house is too much to bear. At least the racist, bigoted, redneck farts are patient.
