Alberta restricted transfer

Waiting on one from June 14th yet. I don't have time to sit and play phone games, so I tried calling once and gave up.

Might try calling again if I get some spare time or it rains.

Called in today and a very nice lady who approved all three of mine, I had the emails before the call was over. ( 25 mins on hold another ~10 speaking with her) One from June 15th 593###, one the 29th 595### and the third 596### from July 7th. Two of the sellers received their emails but not the third.

That's great that they're working with people the best they can!

I sent my transfers in using the hard copy form on the CFC website. I mailed it (express mail, signature required) on June 27th. After not hearing a peep, I tried calling and using the “press 1 for English, press 1 if you know the extension, extension 9026” method which has generously been shared with all of us here. Every time I went through the process I got the “high volume of calls” response and was cut off. After the first couple of tries, I got more efficient and just dialed 1(800)731-4000, 1, 1, 9026, with a one second pause for each comma. Doing it this way, I could rattle off about 4 calls a minute.

After about 15 minutes of this, I got through and was put in the queue. Another 15 minutes on hold and a most helpful lady came on the line. She informed me that my transfers were showing as “on hold” due to waiting for a response to their email. When I told her I was not aware of any such email, she drilled down and discovered that it was sent to the buyer and just today at that. When I told her that I have all the info and could probably answer the question right then over the phone, she provided the cryptic notes such as they were. Still, there was just enough info there that was able to guess what they wanted and, sure enough, that was the info they were holding out for.

Apparently the CFC still has to confirm the conditions are fully satisfied, but she was able to give me the transfer number over the phone. She pretty much bent over backward to be helpful. Clearly the Alberta CFO’s positive outlook and respect for legal owners trickles down to her staff.

ETA: No I haven’t lost my mind, selling my hand guns at this time. I’m transferring them to my kids, ensuring at least one more generation of free Canadians. Stuff THAT up your O-ring, WEF!

My second last purchase from a sponsor on here, gave me a second transfer number 5 days after the initial number sent to me by them.
. Weird. They said they dont know why they did it.

Anyways, the new transfer number is 5990###

Wheres everyone at with their completed transfer #s in AB?

Mid June did two transfers, one was a single and the other multiple.

Also made a purchase from a CGN sponsor but have not heard anything yet.

July 29th recieved notification from Alberta CFO that the single was complete.

The multiple apparently in process.

We are all victims of a devious and criminal enterprise masquerading as a legitimate government.

For the time being.

Did a private transfer on June 20 after trying to get through for 10 days. Conferenced in the seller and did it on the phone all together. Neither party have received the transfer notification yet. One I bought from a dealer on may 30 I had the transfer 7 days later.

Had time today. And called using the 9026 extension. Took about 10 tries till I got in the queue and after a 28 min wait a nice but confused lady approved one of my purchases from July 1. The other three from later in the month she said will have to wait. Happy to finally get my Bren

40 min on hold today only to finally speak to someone long enough to give them my rpal info and then the line went dead. Called back and got the recording saying "we are closed". I have 5 pending transfers, all from the beginning on June. I've been very patient but it's getting to be ridiculous

In early June , I don't know the process the Alberta CFO was doing for individual to individual transfers myself, but vendor to individual transfers were very quick.
Ordered two handguns from Prophet River on June 01 and they were approved and mailed to me within a week by June 06.
The Alberta CFO was working OT and going above & beyond doing the transfers internally without having to go through the federal office.

They stopped doing that a number of weeks ago because they couldn't sustain the OT costs I assume, and now the transfer approvals are going through the federal office in queue with all the other provinces, hence having to wait weeks now.

Like all government agencies, internal budget restrictions hamper providing people with proper services even if they want to do better.
Ordered another handgun from Bulls Eye North Aug. 06, who knows when that will show up now.

Teri Bryant, Alberta chief firearms officer July 21:
To help address the federal backlog and reduce wait times for Albertans, the province’s firearms office reworked its processes to handle transfer applications normally dealt with by the federal program. However, given current staffing levels, the Alberta Chief Firearms Office can only perform this additional work on an intermittent basis without negatively affecting its core business.

“I can promise Albertans that everyone in my office is doing all they can to work diligently and expeditiously through the overwhelming increase in inquiries and applications that have been coming in. But there is only so much we can do without the full cooperation and preparedness of our federal counterparts.”

Teri is top notch imo.

I notice two extension numbers being quoted when contacting the CFP @ 18007314000 in order to get a transfer approval.
I have an order from a mid July retail purchase and I'd like to try to see if I can get through and speed things up.
Which extension should I try 9024 or 9026 for Alberta residents?

Called the CFO this morning and she got all 3 of my purchases registered and sent out emails. My reference number being 595###x. All using the 9026 extention

I’m still waiting for mine. Been just about 8 weeks now. June 21. And apparently the CFO office is only open from 0900-1500 lol. I guess they are only working 6 hour days now. Can’t get through to them at all, except for yesterday. Got to the hold line finally but as soon as the clock struck 1500 they said they were closed. My ref is in the 594###x area.

The 9026 extension opens at 8:30 am (MT) on the dot. If you call the extension right at 8:30 am, you should be able to get onto the queue without getting booted out, and someone will typically answer within 15-20 minutes.

I've been getting booted from the call after 15 mins today, sooner than normal haha

update: got through, waited 30 mins, 3 transfers approved from 8 weeks ago. I'm done.

Called the CFO at about 10am this morning @ 9026, waited 15 minutes to get through and another 10 minutes while they processed the request, received the transfer notifications via email while still on the phone.

Extremely friendly women I chatted with, very helpful. I was asked why I was purchasing additonal restricted firearms!, not an issue for me but to some it might be.
