ONT New restricted transfer wait times??

Bought a simple Buckmark from an auction in Ontario on Saturday. Gun company ("Triggers and Bows" / Landsborough Auctions) representative I talked to on the phone this afternoon says to expect the transfer to take 4 to 6 months. Hopefully, she's estimating high so that, say, a three-month wait doesn't seem as bad.

Probably a low estimate - more likely a year or more.

Even more than that, at current pace they are processing 350 per week (1000 in terms of the transfer number) they are processing 5893*** this week, we have already gotten to 6001***, about 100K transfers await and if you divide that by 1000 per week, thats 100 weeks or about two years....

Not all those transfer numbers are in ON, transfer numbers are spread out over all provinces.

Why do people in ON forget about the rest of the country ?
 
If nothing changes a gun bought this week will be at least a year to clear. No question. However, the hope is that when all the other provinces are caught up they could start working on ont transfers to speed them up. But don't fool yourself. A gun you bought in the past few days/weeks will not be here until after the snow melts 100%
 
I’m 58936xx, June 1st purchase as well. Nothing so far so I hope it’s just notification delays :). Fingers crossed.

CFO emails me the new temp reg paperwork. This is my 2nd so far from the ban/freeze/crap shat garbage change.

I suggest you see your online personal info and make sure everything is correct otherwise.
If it is, then my guess is maybe seller gave you wrong ref # or they waited longer then stated to initiate the transfer

The seller is in BC and already received confirmation that the firearm is no longer registered to them (early June). I never got anything back by mail from GRC at all. Cant call them and they wont reply by email request either. I'm in Ontario so that could be the problem
