2 deluxe field model 12’s nice guns 12 ga 450&550$ the guys at the table said no one even looked at them
4-5 standard field guns 250-450$ not even touched
One 16 ga 400$ no takers
The old wingmasters did no better 200$-400$ no takers
Cooey single shots no better win steel built 150$ stayed on the table
The vintage pump market is week
A nice restocked 20ga LC smith 1500$ probably had that much into the wood the guy took it home
On another note the rifles did some what better .
Quick note on rifles early Rem 700 30-06 adl never sold 425$
I bought a rifle I could not let it go new unfired kimber classic
84 L 30-06 825$
The displayers seem to think people are not wanting to buys guns at this time do to our political situation. I would agree to a point . As for vintage smooth bores I think they have just run there coarse the maverick 88’s and the Turkish guns rule

You know struff these times are a changing.
New guys have not had the same experience (possibly) of growing up with the old stand by Model 12 or 870.
A new Kimber 84 L for $825 is a deal not to pass up.

I came to the shotgun scene very late, just this year.I have always loved the look of a O/U, just could never justify buying even a Baikal to myself. This year I had a justification for a shotgun. So I did some research by mostly reading old posts on forums and watching the odd YouTube . Waterfowling is non toxic, so a whole class of shotguns are obsolete. It's chrome lined with screw in chokes and plastic stocks. Yesh ! You can argue that but that is what is believed. So the fine old Winchester 12 and Itasca 37 are just upland guns. Nostalgia doesn't add much value, and the old pharts already have a few in their now lockable cabinets.

Yes indeed the times are a changing the kimber sat on the guys table all day Saturday I came back Sunday at 2 pm the show closed at 3 I had to buy it . I do like kimbers actually the fellow had two on his table
The other one did not sell

I have been in the firearm industry since 1977 retail full on gunsmith all services I know about condition. I would not be speaking of low grade guns
Just saying

More on vintage shotguns local auction I put a bid of 225$ on a Winchster model 1912 20 ga 25” bbl full choke these are nice little guns the condition is a good patina poorly installed pad the gun will clean up nice mechanics are perfect. I can’t believe I won the auction.10 years ago you would not even b close at 450$
Oh well I’m a dinosaur Lol

EE is no indication of market values what so ever it’s gone the other way price listings that are so unrealistic there are auto 5 magnums listed at $550 as we speak and have not sold 2000 views .
If you want to see off the map prices go look on gun post lol
Find a price on the internet then pricing what one believes to b the value of the gun one wants to list is not how one evaluates works .
Also when mentions us prices in their add then for sure the price will b off the mark

I know sometimes I tend to rant on about this subject the bottom line anyone is allowed to put whatever price they want on their firearm if it sells great if it doesn’t that’s when you see price adjusted or big price drop or some such post .
I’m simply talking about realistic market values

The EE is a better indication of value then some small town gun show. Anyone buying or selling knows this. If you know what you want, sure easier to search and receive pictures on your couch then drive all over the province, stand in line to hopefully find your needle in a haystack and dicker face to face with a know it all seller.
I like gun shows. Old shotguns. Etc. They’re not really a good investment but I enjoy them.
Like my Dad says. Never seen a Brinks truck at a funeral.

I’m always buying and selling auto 5’s. 10 years ago a mint 20 would be $1100 max. Now they are moving around $1500 or more. Light 12’s (my favourite) used to be $500. Guys won’t let them go for less than $900 unless you get lucky. I’m looking for another mint light 12 and it’s been a struggle.

There are more legitimate dealers at gun shows than individuals at tables in fact 90% have store fronts
I was not speaking of small frame auto 5’s or other small frame shotguns I was generalizing about a market .

The political climate for me means that I'm just buying black guns right now.

I expect that ill be able to buy an 870 or single shot 22 for a good many years (eventually they will come for them too, we all know that)
But the black guns are top of the gov's list so any extra $ I have goes right there while I still can

Ias I said anyone can post ther firearm at what ever price they want that does not mean it is with in market value it is there choice
Example on EE now
Auto5 20ga magnum $2200
Auto 5 lightweight 20ga 1400$
Neither have sold
That’s not a representation of market value

It’s the largest used firearm market in Canada. What is asked is part of the market. Where it’s sold makes the market.
